there's a part where 'ozzy osbourne' licks both his and nikki sixx's piss off the floor... that about sums it up
the moment i saw pete davidson was the moment i knew this movie was not to be taken seriously
As Andy Warhol famously never said: “In the future, every arena-sized music act of the 20th century will get its own ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for 115 minutes.” The truth of those apocryphal words was obvious even before the execrable Queen biopic grossed almost a billion dollars; the age of infinite content doesn’t offer enough bandwidth for actual creation, so most of our pop culture has to be exhumed from the past (a phenomenon made literal by the sustained explosion of true crime stories). It was all fun and games — sequels and reboots — until someone figured out that music could be a magic bullet for mainstream biopics, and then — wham! — the next thing we knew, Rami Malek had…
Basically Bohemian Rhapsody with bigger hair and worse music. Also, someone breaks the fourth wall and says “Actually, it didn’t happen like this!” which has become such a cliché of bad biopics I need John C. Reilly to make a Walk Hard sequel just so he can make fun of this exhausted trope.
sucks to say it but MGK was really good in this movie. I love motley Crüe idk why I waited so long to watch it but I loved it. really entertaining and totally rock n roll 😂
Squirt: The Movie
Obviously, I’m an expert on all things Mötley Crüe, since I had a poster of The Crüe on my wall when I was in 4th Grade. (I’m talking about myself)
The Dirt is a work of fiction, not to be taken as fact. A lot of Crüe history is ignored (The Crüe had a singer before Vince) or the timeline isn’t correct. (Mick’s hip surgery) But, that’s ok. I doubt you’re watching The Dirt for a factual lesson on the life of Mötley Crüe. However, you can pick out the almost fatal flaw in each member: Nikki’s drug habit, Mick’s health, Tommy’s temper and Vince’s personal tragedies. They all get attention, since the movie shifts perspectives, all…
I had a neighbor that would play Motley Crue LOUD until like 4 a.m. every night. The one time I had a party, he called the cops on me.
That's all you need to know about Motley Crue and their fans, really.
lol this movie is a mess but that’s kinda what it needed to be given the hedonistic subject matter. Compared to the book this came across a little... tame... but still, with that said I gotta give this mess credit... right from the get go I knew this wasn’t going to shy away from specific moments like a certain other music bio pic did last year... this opens with Tommy Lee going down on a girl at a party and making her squirt across the room and that’s interspersed with a young Nikki Sixx cutting himself in front of his mom, calling the police on her and saying she stabbed him lol.
The music bio pic cliches are here but…
