Walking into a store and buying an entire rotisserie chicken (correction: duck) and then eating it in public with your bare hands like an apple is the relatable female representation I didn’t know I needed.
1:43 of hilarious women screaming, fighting, kicking, biting, crying, doubting, learning, reclaiming, hating, loving, and BEING THE FURY. So infectious and fun, an ultra stylized directorial debut Nida Manzoor should be very proud of. Need to see more of a Priya Kansara ASAP.

WHAT THE FUCK THIS WAS SO FUN??? I missed it at Sundance and never saw the trailer (and I’m glad I didn’t, because it gives away way too much) so I went into this screening with only the faintest remembrance of the logline and ended up having an absolute blast. It’s so sick to see a super-stylized Edgar Wright-esque action-comedy from the female perspective, and even though writer-director Nida Manzoor‘s script gets more absurd as the film goes on, she’s in total control of its tone and irreverent sense of humor the whole way through, so we’re with her on this wild ride the whole time. Also, the cast is to die for - and Priya Kansara is such an instant star. Mark your calendars to give this a watch in a month 📅
This is glorious fun.. it’s “bend it like Beckham” x “everything everywhere..” . It’s a pity that cinemas were empty on a Sunday. Again end of the year, like every year - they will be like - “should have seen when it came out on big screen”..
