HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE.
I remember it playing HBO once but it’s been lost to Cinema history and that’s a shame because its so batshit crazy it needs to be seen to be believed (it’s on YouTube I believe).
So many great recognizable actors, from Clu Gulager to SUITABLE FLESH’s own Bruce Davison, just hamming it up like it’s an R-Rated Lifetime movie…and then it gets crazier.
Written and directed by the Wheat Brothers who went on to write NIGHTMARE 4, PITCH BLACK, etc, this twisty, noirish, soapy thriller about murder, mistaken identity and mental hospitals just keeps getting weirder by the minute, culminating in a third act that both De Palma and Argento would get stiff over.

Movie #1 of my secret Bday Double feature and boy did this go over well with the group. So much fun. Wish it was easier to see (we watched from a VHS transfer to DVD).
like an 80s variation on Unsane, from the brother directing team of Battle for Endor, with an actress being wrongfully held at a mental hospital as part of pretty clever murder cover-up - successful slow burn that leads into a giallo-esque third act with a black gloved killer and some solid kills, including a particularly sadistic elevator involved death
Actress tricked into starring in a diabolical scheme. Involves multiple hidden cameras & shady doctors who need some extra cash. Curiously convoluted.
Kleiner, aber weitgehend feiner Thriller, der im TV- oder Videopremierengewand daherkommt und ein paar dumme/unglaubwürdige Wendungen hat, aber durchgehend unterhält. Ist auch mit einem für diese Zeit typischen Synthesizer-Score unterlegt, was jetzt auch nicht so übel ist.
twisty thriller about a struggling actress who gets a suspicious gig portraying a real heiress who witnessed a murder and is being held in an asylum. gets referenced alongside Unsane which makes sense, but also has more to it than that comparison might make you think. tight little movie, good cast, would be cool to see this on a better print some day!

Hier Jagd ein Handlungs-Twist den nächsten. Das macht sogar richtig Spaß, hätte ich nicht erwartet. Ist zwar etwas an den Haaren herbei gezogen, aber der Unterhaltungswert ist echt hoch. Was will man mehr?
A lost gem with some really great set pieces. Watched on a VHS transfer (still the only home media available) at Brian Saur’s Secret Birthday Double Feature.
This was so much fun! And just twist after twist, like crazy 80s Hitchcock... except, not Brian DePalma. It's an absolute shame there's no physical release of this outside VHS.
Ingenious premise, inconsistent execution. Has some very good moments but also a fair amount of filler. I'm not sure that the slow build of the first act really enhances the action once it kicks in.
