Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine

Oh my god. How am I just as surprised as the first watch if not more. It’s been 2 days and I haven’t stop talking about it.

I still stand with my take that this is a top 10 MCU film. The only thing this film is lacking is a threatening villain, but we still got a pretty okay one.

The humor really didn’t bother me in this. I was laughing during the entire two hours just like everybody else in my theater. I still don’t understand why people are complaining. If they’ve seen the past two then they’ll know that that the sense of humor will stay the same. I personally find these movies to be not o my some of the funniest Marvel movies, but also some of the most rewatch able ones.

Cameos in this movie are great. The movie isn’t reliant on them whatsoever. They also serve a purpose to the movie itself. There are some that don’t, and are just there for the fun, but take those away and you still have a phenomenal movies. I was honestly extremely impressed on how they handled X-23 in this movie. I thought that they would somehow either make her and use her as a joke, but that thankfully wasn’t the case. She’s taken more seriously and plays a much bigger role than the other cameos in this film.

The pacing for this film is great. I do see why some people complain because there are scenes that are being explained for too long and some that aren’t being explained enough, but that’s a different topic. There’s a couple of scenes that take longer than it should. I wasn’t really bothered by any of them. Somehow I was watching Deadpool dance while killing members of the TVA then all of a sudden the credits start to play.

The exposition isn’t really that great. Were told most of the stuff, but never shown which kinda sucks. There are also some stuff that aren’t explained enough and some that are being explained for too long. This isn’t something that bothers me a lot, but it’s something that I managed to pick up on my second watch. I would have loved a flashback for some of the characters to help understand them better. There’s also a joke about it made towards the end to show that this is a major thing missing in the film. I think that if we got some exposition for Cassandra then she might have felt more menacing and threatening.

Deadpool and Wolverine is still a fantastic movie despite some of its flaws. I do agree with some its flaws, but I couldn’t care less. This is the type of movie where you just turn your brain off and appreciate it for what it is. I don’t think the story is as messy as people think, but it still is a mess. I think I’ve talked about all of my positives and negatives with this film. The movie won’t be considered perfect by a lot of fans, but it is to me. It delivered everything I asked for going in if not more.
