One of our local independent/arthouse theaters has a new series called "Flashback Friday". Every Friday they'll show an iconic 80s movie. And is there a better way to get this thing going than with John McTiernan's action classic a day before Christmas Eve? I think not.
I'll save you the preaching to the choir part about the qualities of Die Hard, I just wanted to mention how fucking awesome it was to see a film on the big screen for the first time that I've watched already countless times before on TV, VHS, and DVD, and which I know inside out.
It would've been even more awesome had I not dozed off for a few minutes (it was a late-night screening) right around the time McClane utters his signature one-liner. Yippie ki-nay, motherfucker!
