Damn... what a MASSIVE step up in quality 🤯. It might just be because i'm already more familiar with the concept but i thought the budget was higher, the writing was tighter and there wasn't A SINGLE weak death although it did cross my mind that i could see this franchise falling into "dumb ways to die" kinda territory down the line if you really think about it 💀.
The car wreckage while not better than the plane explosion was very cool/gruesome. I liked how they make you believe we're gonna follow Kimberly and her friends the same way we follow Alex and his friends on the first one but then they kinda subvert that by having them be the ones to die first, thought it was very clever 👏🏻.
I also really liked how they brought Clear/Mr. Bludworth back and how they tied this movie's victims to the survivors from the original's deaths, i wasn't expecting that 😳. I don't appreciate the writers killing Alex off screen however 😒.
Overall score: 9/10
