As always a delight cinematography wise with striking colors, fantastic visuals, quirky montages and a amazing noir tone to it, but I must say that despite the gorgeous looking aspects I’m afraid to say that putting so much effort to those details sadly consumed the storyline in feeling somehow flat and not groundbreaking enough. This film have some creative stories here and there however it feels more educational and politically, religiously or military more indulge rather than having a significant emotional weight, more documentary wise to be honest… a really tedious one. Like I had mentioned on other reviews of Anderson films my biggest concern with his nature of characters development is that they felt lifeless and because of that big problematic at least for me is that I’m careless about their situations, is not the cast fault at all since I appreciate the talent overload and the acting is definitely far from bad, evidently is more the aura around their physicality and exploration of emotions being so pretentious and even absurd. There is not doubt that the news left a mark for better or for worst but society gets informed about that noisy gossip, being on a newspaper article might be on that time period a catapulted into success or at least attract eulogies and recognition in extreme magnitudes nonetheless they can be some fishy intentions out there that can prejudice your reputation or unfold your true colors or on more dramatic ways fake information about your persona that are far from your identity, any sort of media that spreads this type of defining content have their dark side and of course their benefits as sometimes they want to create some sort of awareness. I appreciate the purpose of addressing this complex area however it lacks on execution and more exposition than a immersive story, I can’t deny that it have some endearing and comical scenes that I liked but sincerely most of the time it bored me and that is a shame because the length is not that long but for me it feels insufficient on heart and depth, is not a rollercoaster of emotions, is more bland, cold and heavy rather than mesmerizing, with more spicy substance and mind blowing, or at least that is how I felt at the end of the day as it was easy for me to get misguided on my personal disconnection. Sorry Anderson this particularly one wasn’t my cup of tea.
