First of all, ARE YOU TELLING ME!!! Julianne, Charles and Natalie were completely SNUBBED from the academy with this magestic performances? COMPLETE BULLSHIT and I’m never going to get over it. I finally got to watch “May December” and I have to say this was a vile frightening and insanely draining premise, such a complex storyline that was addressed with great delicacy but at the same time taking big risks and using a powerful wit. I felt uncomfortable several times, but this reminded me and not that I didn’t know better how emotionally attached those people get with their characters to the point of having chaotic disorders in the process of trying to distance themselves from that alter ego, and on the other hand is terribly sad to see someone releasing a trauma so late just because they didn’t found the resources before to express their regrets. Once again the acting was immaculate, and that is the best part of this whole demented vicious circle kind of situation. I definitely need to watch this film again in order to clarify doubts that I believe that at the end of the day the viewer can reach their own conclusion, but despite that this was such a awesome movie that I highly recommend, and I’m definitely going to visit Todd Haynes filmography to hopefully find more surprising stories.
