I have nothing but high praises for this film, it’s funny, it’s sad, it’s angering. Mikey Madison’s, Ani or Anora, is a character we can feel for. Wanting us to believe that what we are seeing will pay off and fix itself by the end but as the story goes on; we see that things may not have been what they were believed to have been. And we see how Ani starts to slowly come to that realization.

Terrifier 2 2022
I can see why this movie is divisive amongst people, but my issue is the length of this movie. It’s got a stronger plot than its predecessor and it’s definitely a fun ride but the third act feels longer than it should be. It could’ve used some cutting in the beginning, middle, and end. And kept this at just short of 2 hours, but overall, this fun sequel strengthens Art’s legacy and you can definitely tell the time they put…

Nightmare at Shadow Woods 1987
“That isn’t cranberry sauce Artie.. that is not cranberry sauce…”
I have a special place in my heart for cheesy films like these. The score is super 80s, the acting from some of the actors is wonky as f*ck, and it looks like it was filmed at an abandoned apartment complex.
Mark Soper does an amazing job portraying both Todd and Terry Simmons, that you almost believe that it’s two different, similar looking actors. The mom is probably just as… -
The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
Idk what it was about my first viewing of this movie that made it so good, but I feel like this movie only sparks once and doesn’t do it again on rewatches.
It’s a great paced film and it has a lot of things to enjoy from it. But on this second watch, I could see all the fan service they were trying to shoehorn into it and kinda just following a same story line you would if you were… -
Salem's Lot 2024
This movie definitely has the remake vibes to it. Not just the look but the way it takes its own spin on the characters, and some of the story points. While trying to stick to the novel, it skips out a lot of the details and character arcs. So much so that a lot of the situations they’re put in don’t seem to be well developed, and they seem to come to a conclusion pretty quickly. If you haven’t read…

Mrs. Doubtfire 1993
This movie is funny, heartwarming, and believe it or not, anxiety inducing. Robin Williams is a national treasure lost too soon and he carries this movie the whole way through. Though personally I prefer the Nanny persona rather than his actual character. Miranda had every right to divorce Daniel and should have considered becoming what Mrs. Doubtfire was way long before he made her snap.
Though if he did we would not have gotten this wonderful family movie.
PS: Hollywood, don’t try remaking this movie. It’s perfect the way it is. -
MaXXXine 2024
This is my second time watching this after watching it in theaters back in July and I pretty much feel the same way about its 3rd act as I did on my first watch. It feeling anticlimactic and a bit obvious if you pay attention to the first clip at the beginning of the movie with Maxine in ‘59.
I had an easier time paying attention to details this second time but at the end of the film, it feels… -

Night of the Living Dead 1968
“ They’re coming to get you, Barbara.”
And in fact they did.A bleak film that definitely would’ve left audiences in 1968 feeling unsettled with a sense of dread. It’s got the classic spooky vibes, that are frankly a bit outdated to today’s term of spooky atmosphere.
The characters are hardly developed, but I still felt shock when it came to their demise.
It’s shows a somewhat realistic way society would react to unknown attacks, none are ever on the… -
Y2K 2024
Black Mirror meets A24
This film captures the late 90s - early 2000s perfectly. Imagine if Y2K actually made all of the technology at the time go nuts.
It’s another good movie that will age well with time and moves A24 up in the upcoming years.
Loved the vibes and the comedy in this.
Very well paced and doesn’t fail to relate to current events now. Another A24 Classic. -
Black Christmas 1974
The unsettling nature of this movie gives me a comforting feeling. The lights, the vibes, the eerie phone calls, and the cold emanating from the scenes make this film a perfect holiday film.
My first watch was back during Christmas of 2019 and I was appalled at how long it long took me to watch this movie. It truly f*cked me up and left me feeling creeped out and couldn’t get over the fact that they don’t ever catch the…
