  For what was supposed to be a satirical/socio-political film, Balota lacked the sense of urgency that it needed to show. Ako lang ba or Marian Rivera has always been an unequivocally one-dimensional actress?? It felt as though she was, for the most part, out-of-place sa sarili niyang pelikula. Kung ano siya sa Marimar, hanggang sa Rewind, ganun din siya sa Balota. Inconsistently quirky and then would jump at you out of nowhere just because she is the Marian Rivera people…
