• Jason X

    Jason X

    ★★★★

This movie makes absolutely zero sense in the Friday the 13th lore, but it doesn't take itself seriously at all, which is how it's best enjoyed. Just throw it on, turn your brain off, and enjoy the stupidity and kills. Easily my favorite of the franchise up to this point. It shouldn't work but somehow it does.

  • Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

    ★★★

honestly pretty underrated, as a friday the 13th film it sucks and makes no sense but if you treat it like a normal horror movie it's pretty cool

  • Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

pretty terrible ending, boring characters, boring story, boring movie

also most of the movie takes place on a cruise ship not Manhattan

  • Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

    ★★½

Not a huge fan of the psychic stuff which I think the movie draws out for way too long. The kills also just aren’t that great in this one. Gets some points for the cool final showdown between Tina and Jason tho

  • Rodan

    Rodan

    ★★★★

it’s like Godzilla but with a pterodactyl instead

  • Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

    ★★★½

One of the better entries in the Friday the 13th franchise for sure. Features the return of Jason as the killer and a return to Camp Crystal Lake (now called Camp Forest Green) and marks the shift of the franchise to a less serious tone.

  • Toy Story 2

    Toy Story 2

    ★★★★

A solid sequel to the original Toy Story! Introduces some iconic characters to the franchise, though the story isn’t quite as good as the original in my opinion

  • Superman and the Mole-Men

    Superman and the Mole-Men

    ★★½

The first ever Superman film, Superman and the Mole Men, starts off strong but by the end falls a little flat for me. The first bit of the movie focuses on the mystery of the oil drilling site and the mole men, but once that is revealed the film doesn’t have much more to offer. Benson is a lame one-dimensional villain and for a superhero movie you’d expect more fight scenes, which this film lacks. It’s not a terrible film, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

  • The Son of Kong

    The Son of Kong

    ★★★

Released just nine months after the original King Kong, Son of Kong feels like a cheap way to cash in on the success of the original. With that being said, there is still plenty to enjoy about this film. It takes a different direction from the first and portrays the Son of Kong as more of an ally rather than a true monster. The ending to this film is also incredibly emotional. Overall, it doesn’t quite compare to the original but is still a good movie on its own.

  • Spider-Man

    Spider-Man

    ★★★★

I feel like Spider Man is the superhero that works  best in a movie format. The first movie in this trilogy is great. There’s so many good characters whose stories are all interwoven together. Tobey Maguire is the best to play the Spider Man character in my opinion, and he delivers a great performance as does Willem Dafoe playing the Green Goblin.

  • Friday the 13th: A New Beginning

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning

    ★★

The kills in this movie are really toned down compared to previous entries in the franchise. I’m also not a huge fan of Jason not actually being the killer in this one. I think the reveal of who it actually is ends up being pretty dumb because there’s essentially no clues to pointing to that beforehand. Lots of uninteresting characters as well.

  • King Kong

    King Kong

    ★★★★

This is such a classic film. Skull Island is such an iconic location filled with adventure and mystery. It’s still cool to this day to see King Kong beat up a bunch of dinosaurs and other giant monsters. Although the movie starts off slow, the last hour or so is pure chaos in the best way possible, especially the ending scene on the Empire State Building.
