A fantastically perverted Expressionistic monster movie that brings so much to the table in its discussion of the human experience. The world, whether in captive areas or at large, is so uniquely rendered and, in ways, beautifully grotesque. I can see how it wouldn't sit perfectly well with those not familiar with the eccentric tales Yorgos weaves, but to me that unease makes the experience all the more fascinating.
