Spellbound was a mighty effort that didn't quite reach the heights it was aiming for I think.
The music was sung beautifully, but I didn't think the lyrics or melodies were as catchy as they could have been. I understand clearly what the story was about, but it was more in your face and had less of that subtlety that makes a good animated movie great. Nor did it have anything for the adults like the greats do.
It's an important message. I think younger audiences will still enjoy it. Kids who've gone through the main issue in the story may also find it relatable, but I'm unsure if it would be enjoyable. Overall, it didn't keep my attention as much as I was hoping. The end theme was catchy as hell though.
