Mari’s review published on Letterboxd:
Let me first say that we showed up, bought all our food and drinks, went to our seats, found others in our seats, compared tickets, and realized my friend had actually bought tickets for tomorrow’s showing. We then ended up getting seats for the very first row and thus watched the entire movie in essentially 0.5 perspective.
That being said I still had fun for this being a PG-13 movie although I really wish they had upped the rating and did more. (I understand the demographic blah blah blah these are just my hopes and dreams.) I also think Josh Hutcherson was a really great casting choice and I saw the trailer for his other movie I’m excited for? (Man’s got rent DUE!) The animatronics were fun and the overall vibe of Freddy’s was pretty neat.
My one big complaint is the cop character. I wish they went more into the Freddy’s lore instead of whatever plot line they tried to do with her. Big snooze fest.
I will say this: if you go to this and get annoyed by having a bunch of high schoolers or just overall younger crowd be loud and having fun then honestly get a grip. This is obviously aimed at younger demographic and before you say “well I’m 20 pushing 50 and I’m a fan and I deserve blah blah blah” bro stfu! When I left the theater I just kept hearing grown ass people complaining like what exactly are you expecting? If you care so much go to a showing at an earlier time where these kids are in school. I think it added to overall experience having all the die hard fans cheering at certain scenes or just overall having fun. It’s FNAF not fucking Oppenheimer.
Okay rant over anyway afterwards we got some collectible Freddy cards at David n Busters 😋
