  “I’m not trying to make a political statement. I just want to make a movie.” Miyazaki, probably after realizing he accidentally created a film that makes you question everything about life, work, and the fact that you might be stuck in a bathhouse with a giant frog. It’s whimsical, sure, but also feels like a metaphor for adulthood. Magical and confusing asl.
