Martyrs might be the most disturbing film i have ever seen It is fucking devastating an unrelenting soul-crushing descent into human suffering that left me emotionally wrecked. It’s not just the brutal violence that makes it disturbing though there’s plenty of that it’s the sheer hopelessness the way it forces you to sit with the horrors of trauma guilt and the sick twisted pursuit of meaning. Watching Anna endure unimaginable torture knowing there’s no escape broke me.
