Adam Nayman’s review published on Letterboxd:
A very formative movie for young Adam; probably the first time that I ever saw Nicole Kidman, and definitely the first time I saw a child die onscreen - the opening sequence is nothing if not an effective PSA about the importance of wearing one’s seat belt. The myriad trashy compromises here are the best part, including and especially the coda, which proves that sometimes, executives know what they’re talking about - in the annals of punishment-fits-the-crime-payoffs, Zane’s fate ranks high. Neill parlayed his impressively physical performance here into Hollywood action roles, and good for him.
