I drove home again. I hate driving, but I need to do it in order to go places. Every time I drive I am terrified that I might hit another car. I’m not scared if I’ll be hurt, I’m afraid another car may be damaged, even though it hasn’t happened yet. I’m not sure why I have this anxiety, but it’s something that bothers me greatly. Incredible fashion and an unbelievable score. Vampires! Very easy to lose yourself in the film’s moody atmosphere and creaky old hotel. Plays with the tropes of the vampiric films that have come out before it in very interesting ways. Vampires!

While I did find myself more narratively engrossed in the questing aspects of the latter part of the film, that first part is necessary to getting at the ideas the film is grasping towards. I’m curious to see how this will play on another watch. Lots of great effects throughout (I…

In the Broadway production of Wicked, a No-Fly Show is one in which there is a technical malfunction or mishap that causes Elphaba to not levitate during her big Defying Gravity number. This is a big disappointment for audiences because, since the show is a massive spectacle, not being able to see the fun practical effects of the character flying during her big song is a bit of a let-down in such a visual driven show. This feels like a…
