Little Shop of Horrors 1986
I can't fucking believe there's a movie where Rick Moranis kills people and feeds them to a man-eating alien plant from outer space who sings and dances, Steve Martin plays a sadistic dentist with a nitrous oxide addiction who loves torturing patients, and it's all wrapped in an insanely fun and campy horror-comedy musical with absurdly catchy tunes.
Can I go higher than 5 stars?

The Outsiders 1983
Stay gold, Ponyboy.
While overly melodramatic at times, there's a lot of sensitivity and compassion in this coming-of-age story about troubled youth. There's some downright strange directorial flourishes from Coppola, but the young and talented cast does a great job portraying vulnerability in such a cruel world wrought with toxic masculinity and divisive societal norms.

Raising Arizona 1987
Masterfully shot by the Coen Brothers and Barry Sonnenfeld, Raising Arizona is a fun and hectic social satire with super quirky characters and tons of screwball antics. The Coen's stylish idiosyncrasies are in full swing early on in their career. The story keeps you guessing and the pace stays locked in a frenzy. The charming comedic performances from the cast along with the commentary on parenting and lower class struggles makes Raising Arizona absurdly hilarious and surprisingly introspective.
