Dune: Part Two

Dune: Part Two

From the technical aspects this movie is quite a masterpiece. The cinematography, visuals, sound design, production design and editing are all top notch. Also the action sequences are really epic. Moreover scenes like the first worm ride or the black and white Harkonnen Arena gave me really goosebumps.

Then we have an amazing music score by Hans Zimmer, that was really suitable to the magical worldbuilding of Dune. The cast with so many big names are all delivering on point. Timothee Chalamet, he showscased really well his change from the start to the movie to the end. Also to mention Austin Butler, I thought he was incredibly good as Feyd Rauth, a menacing villain, one of those that had you wondering about what he'd do next, and that makeup, awesome. But everyone of the cast brought their A-Game into this.

The plot with the exploration of religion, fanaticism, freedom fighting vs terrorism, was interesting and unusual for a sci-fi movie. Even though I didn't read the book, I think Villeneuve retained the heart and soul of the story. There is so much to love here that I cannot imagine someone leaving the cinema feeling unsatisfied with this. But maybe I would have wished for more explanations/clarity of the Dune World.

Overall I would recommend to watch this movie on the biggest screen you can find, to really get the cinematic experience!
