Deadpool & Wolverine

Deadpool & Wolverine

There’s a certain charm to watching two fan-favorite antiheroes claw and quip their way through 120 minutes of mayhem. Deadpool & Wolverine delivers exactly what you’d expect from a team-up of Ryan Reynolds' irreverent Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s eternally grumpy Logan. It's chaotic, gory, and self-aware to the point of absurdity—and for the most part, it works.

The movie feels like a love letter to fans, peppered with fourth-wall-breaking humour, meta jokes about the X-Men franchise (yes, including a few digs at Origins), and action sequences that are as brutal as they are stylish. Reynolds’ Deadpool is at his snarky best, and Jackman effortlessly slips back into Wolverine’s skin, growling and slicing his way through legions of enemies with ease. The chemistry between the two is electric—equal parts bromance and bickering, with just the right amount of heart underneath all the carnage.

However, the film’s pacing feels a bit uneven, with the middle act sagging under the weight of an overstuffed plot that sometimes sacrifices emotional stakes for spectacle. Some jokes don’t quite land, and a few cameos feel more like checklist items than meaningful additions but I also can’t act like I didn’t pop when a couple of them came through. But when the movie leans into its core dynamic—two broken, badass mutants trying to outdo each other—it’s pure gold.

Not quite a masterpiece, but undeniably entertaining. If you’ve ever wanted to see Wolverine stab Deadpool mid-monologue (again), this one’s for you.
