Sean Baker continues to make fantastical films in the real world. If The Florida Project was a fantasy, Anora is a grimm fairy tale with so much heart. Seeing this in a packed theater reminded me how special movies can be. We were all laughing together and then at the end silent. Anora is perfect in every way. I have 0 problems with it and Mikey Madison is a star.
Human connection is something to be valued and celebrated, not played with and then thrown away. The ending scene is perfect in that way.
I just wanted to give Ani a hug the entire time. So deserving of the Palme D’or. Next best actress (maybe best picture???)
