A high school wise guy is determined to have a day off from school, despite what the Principal thinks of that.

I’m not entirely sure if there is a film that captures the essence and goodness of an 80’s coming-of-age story like Ferris Bueller does. It is the ultimate representation of joy from that time as we follow our three heroes through the greatest day off of their lives. Ferris skips school to take us on the funniest, most entertaining, and most memorable journey imaginable, and he builds a following in the process. “Save Ferris” is plastered on water towers and billboards across Chicago, but even he is unaware of the chaos he has created. It is just brilliant, and every character and cast-member is perfect.

The pacing may catch some 80’s newbies off guard, but once you catch onto how it moves, you will be along for the ride. This is just everything I have ever wanted in a Comedy. It features dry humor, witty humor, musical numbers, catchy lines, great banter, an excellent villain in Ed Rooney, and everything beyond that. It is also a film that I caught at such a young age, and from then on I aspired to be Ferris Bueller. It essentially created my mentality that I used through High School, and it worked. Broderick is perfection in this role, and John Hughes (again) proves how brilliant he is. This movie means everything to me, and I may love it more than most, but I love it nonetheless. Life moves pretty fast.
