The body horror in this film is S-Tier and NOT FOR BEGGINERS.
Coralie Fargeat is swinging David Cronenberg and Ari Aster levels of fucked up-ped-ness on screen.
I legit watched half the film through my sweater and so did the dudes sitting next to me.
At the end of the film we looked at each other knowingly with an expression reserved for people who have just been through some shit together.
In addition to the visual assault, the sound mixer uses ASMR with evil intent.
If you have audio-sensory issues (like me) maybe wait to see this at home. It gave me hot-flashes and legit made my stomach lurch before the real body horror even got started.
I'll never look at Dennis Quaid or shrimp the same way again.
