Eduard Rautenbach’s review published on Letterboxd:
Rose Glass in her sophomore effort has made another distinct and memorable film with teeth and bite. This time she trades in caretaker’s robes for gym shorts and does the most with it. This movie from frame one establishes an energetic and unnerving tone drenched in sweat and then from there moves at a frenetic pace right up until the end. I was vibing real hard with the aesthetics of this movie throughout. I think the performances from Kristen Stewart and Kathy O’Brian were fantastic. O’Brian in particular has such an impressive physicality to her and definitely makes a strong impression. Like the best thrillers, this unravels in unexpected and satisfying ways. Glass’ cinematic language is thoroughly calculated and calibrated to keep you on your toes and keep you invested. I’m just going to say the film completely jumps the shark when it decided to go all full fantasy giants on me, but other than that - this makes me even more excited to see what Rose Glass does next.
