The First Omen 2024
Arkasha Stevenson has no business making a (Disney-owned) prequel to one of the most mid legacy horror series; her efforts would clearly be best spent on an original story without the 50 year baggage of mixed results that plagues the Omen.

The Brutalist 2024
Something which is so massive and ambitious that is also about massive and ambitious things has victories in the smallest most intimate corners of itself.
I so badly wish that Scott Walker could have contributed to this score. You hear so much of his influence in it.
p.s. saw an IMDb review that this film contains the “most touching masturbation scene ever” and I ask myself why even bother writing my own review.

Nosferatu 2024
The narrative plays like a fairy tale, and carries none of the heft of a modern movie, but this is likely a testament to how faithfully it tethers itself to the original. For all of the countless vampire movies out there, I am glad Eggers took things in this direction. There is a freshness to it in that respect.
I will also say this movie is ultimately way funnier than I anticipated, intentional or not.
