3/4 arm slot; high front side when back leg drops and drives creating deception; hides ball in back well; inconsistent landing spot; can cut hips off early; has trouble repeating; quick arm action to fast arm coming through; delivery shows effort at times. |

natural cut; can throw some with arm-side run at lower velo band; sat 92-94 all start; peaked at 95 but heard he's touched 96, 97 as a starter; could see a velocity tick from bullpen; heard it plays 96-99. |

showed 11-5 shape with some bite; can throw it for a strike and chase pitch; can get soft and lose effectiveness; want to see it in higher velo band from bullpen; heard it plays 79-82. |

shows feel for pitch; arm-side fade with small vertical action; used to throw away to LHH; presently well below average but could play to fringe average with work out of the bullpen. |
Sam Wolff presently has inconsistent mechanics and it challenges the idea of him being a starter long term. From the bullpen last year, the FB velocity played higher and it also made the CB sharper. Ultimately, that's where I think he'll end up and have the most value. He has bullpen experience.
Command profile: presently average, could get to solid average.
