"Let's Talk About AI" #video out now! I'm thrilled to share our #online discussion on AI's integration into creative industries like #photography and #architecture. Alongside Dimitra Peppa #LWDA and Mariza Kapsabeli, we explore AI's current and future impact on creativity. My journey into #AI began with a curiosity about its potential to transform #design and bring #innovation. Experimenting with AI tools like #StableDiffusion, #Gencraft, and #Midjourney, I discovered new ways to enhance creativity and streamline workflows. Attending the AI and Architecture #Conference at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm further solidified my belief in AI's power as a creative collaborator. AI has not only expanded my creative potential but also strengthened my social media presence and professional growth. However, it’s essential to use AI responsibly, considering #ethical aspects like #fairness and #transparency. Embracing AI has been a journey of continuous learning and inspiration, keeping my work #fresh and #relevant. As AI continues to shape the future, those who harness its power will gain a significant advantage in the creative world. I'm excited to see what new possibilities AI will bring to design and innovation.

Title: "Pathways of Connection: A Minimalist Seafront Installation in Eastern Peloponnese" Firm: LandmArch. Location: Eastern Peloponnese, Greece Type: Urban Installation, Art Installation, Concept Year: 2024 Illustration: LandmArch. AI This proposal for an #urbaninstallation on the seafront of Eastern Peloponnese, #Greece, beautifully combines the natural #landscape with modern #outdoordesign. Set against rugged mountain rocks, the installation features smooth #concrete elements forming a #pathway that extends into the water, offering a unique way to explore the #coastline and connect land with the sea. This open-air #artwork goes beyond functionality, exploring the relationship between nature and human creativity. The concrete forms blend smoothly with the rocky surroundings, inviting direct engagement with the aquatic environment. When wet, the concrete elements merge with the endless blue of the water, blurring the lines between the man-made and the natural. This connection deepens the installation's harmony with its environment, encouraging reflection on the relationship between human design and nature. #Publicart like this exemplifies the trend of combining aesthetics with functionality, turning public spaces into interactive experiences. We are thrilled to have been selected among international #urbandesign and #landscapearchitecture firms to contribute our #insights and complete the Global Designing Cities Initiative (#GDCI) #survey. - GDCI: "What do you think are the primary barriers to implementing more people-focused street transformations in your city/work and what are the strategies you are using to overcome them, if any?" - LandmArch.: "Implementing people-focused street changes often faces challenges like #politicalresistance, a strong #carculture, financial constraints, and logistical issues. Local businesses may worry about losing customers, and there can be public concerns about safety or the lack of community involvement. Overcoming these barriers requires building support through #advocacy, educating the public about the benefits, starting with low-cost projects, and involving the #community in planning. By addressing these challenges with careful #planning and #collaboration, cities can create more pedestrian-friendly and vibrant streets." - GDCI: "What type of information/data do you wish you currently had to help you implement people-focused street transformations?" - LandmArch.: "To create streets that are more focused on #people, having various types of information would be really helpful. We would need data on how and when people walk and bike, the flow of traffic, and how #publictransit is used. Knowing about the community's #demographics, #safety concerns, and #accessibility needs is important too. Environmental factors like #airquality and #noise, as well as the economic impact on local businesses, would also guide the process. Additionally, feedback from residents and information about the area's #history and #culture would help ensure that the transformations meet the needs of everyone and respect the #localidentity. Understanding weather patterns would also be important for designing streets that are comfortable throughout the year." - GDCI: "Please share any other stories, quotes, or feedback about GDCI’s impact on your local work." - LandmArch.: "GDCI has been instrumental in shaping LandmArch's approach to creating safer, more people-centric streets. By drawing on global examples, we've successfully promoted practices that enhance safety and invigorate local economies. GDCI's guidelines have helped us improve accessibility, reduce pedestrian injuries, and adopt effective traffic-calming measures. GDCI's emphasis on community engagement has proven invaluable, leading to the creation of pedestrian zones that resonate with the public. While challenges have arisen, the positive impact of GDCI's work is evident in the lasting improvements seen across various cities worldwide." Title: Panorama Retreat Firm: LandmArch. Type: Concept, Residential, Hospitality Focus point: Texture, Sustainability Illustration: LandmArch. AI Year: 2024 Location: Corfu, Greece This relaxation area beautifully combines the elegance of natural materials with a panoramic view of the Ionian Sea. The design reflects a commitment to #simplicity, with clean lines and a serene color palette that complements the expansive blue backdrop. Natural materials of linen fabrics and bamboo structures are chosen for their #soft texture and subtle hues, which create a #calming atmosphere that aligns with the #clean aesthetic of the plateau. These fabrics enhance the sense of #tranquility, effortlessly integrating with the striking views of the sea. The infinity pool, positioned to blend into the #horizon, serves as a key feature of the #space. Its design emphasizes the connection between the pool and the ocean, creating a continuous visual flow that highlights the natural beauty of the surroundings. #Rainwatermanagement plays a crucial role in maintaining both the #exclusivity and #sustainability of this retreat. #Rainwater is collected from #rooftops and other surfaces, stored in #tanks, and then purified through a series of #filtration and treatment processes. This ensures the water is clean and suitable for swimming, while also reducing dependence on municipal water supplies and avoiding #water #shortages. By incorporating these systems, the design not only supports #environmental sustainability but also ensures that the #pool remains a #refreshing, #elegant, #responsible and #ecofriendly feature.

Title: Tholos Firm: LandmArch. Type: Concept, Residential, Hospitality Focus point: Form, Sustainability Illustration: LandmArch. AI Year: 2024 Location: Corfu, Greece Description: #Trulli, or #Tholos, stand as a testament to an ancient and unique style of construction that has endured through the ages. These distinctive structures, with their #conical #roofs and #rustic #stone #walls, have a rich history that dates back to prehistoric times. Originally conceived as #temporary field shelters, #storehouses, and modest dwellings for small-scale landowners and agricultural laborers, trulli exhibit a robust #design that offers remarkable #versatility. Constructed from #locally sourced materials like compact #limestone or white #tuff, these buildings are not only #durable but also #adaptable, capable of meeting both simple and complex needs through a series of interconnected rooms and subterranean passages. One of the most fascinating aspects of trulli is their optimal #thermal performance. The thick stone walls and #minimal windows create a natural #insulation system, keeping the interiors warm in winter and cool in summer. This #ingenious design demonstrates the resourcefulness of the early builders, who utilized these structures primarily for agricultural purposes, including food storage. Today, trulli are celebrated not only for their historical significance but also for their #aesthetic and #cultural value. Recognized as #UNESCO World Heritage sites, they stand as symbols of architectural beauty and ingenuity. In this project, LandmArch. draws inspiration from the Ancestral Intelligence of the Hellenistic period along the coastline of eastern #Italy (Apulia), where these structures are still thriving, seeking to connect them with their architectural roots. The Greek term “trullos,” meaning #cupola or #dome suggests that these structures may have been inspired by #Hellenic designs. Recognizing the similarities in #landscape and climate, #Corfu emerges as the ideal Greek locale to #reintroduce this ancient architectural #form into the #hospitality industry. By studying construction details, the selection of local natural materials, and traditional techniques, we aim to present a new #residence that encapsulates the #simplicity and #beauty of these timeless structures. Our design celebrates the #wisdom inherent in their interiors, offering a modern homage to the enduring "elegance and functionality of trulli #architecture.

LandmArch. proudly presents a simplified presentation on "Social Sustainability" as A Pillar of Sustainable Urban Development Social sustainability is a critical dimension of #sustainability that focuses on maintaining and improving the well-being of current and future generations. Unlike environmental sustainability, which emphasizes the conservation of natural resources, and economic sustainability, which concentrates on economic growth and development, social sustainability is concerned with fostering #resilient, #equitable, and #inclusive #communities. #Socialsustainability encompasses various aspects of #society including equity, #diversity, quality of life, social inclusion, and community development. It aims to create systems and structures that support the ability of #individuals and #communities to thrive both now and in the future.
