Who am I?

I'm Ed, the guy behind Gesundheist Media! I've been producing podcasts since 2015, and started moving into the Audio Drama/Audio Fiction direction in 2017 with a test pilot episode, and im earnsest with a continuing show (InSpecter: Deceased Detective) in 2019, then with a soft reboot in 2021. I feel like Audio Drama/Fiction is such an underrated storytelling medium. Such creativity and uniqueness comes out of the restrictions of creating a narrative piece with only audio. Comedy happens to be my favorite genre

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

Inspecter: Deceased Detective follows former detective/current ghost Calvin Westover, who becomes a P.I. (paranormal investigator) to solve crimes of the supernatural nature. He and his unpaid intern Arthur get tied up in a mystery involving Calvin's ex-wife, who happens to be a witch. It's a one person show. I do all the voices (aside from a few cameos from other creators), writing, and editing!

What is my podcast playlist about?

These shows are what I consider to be top notch comedy fiction shows. They are all extremely well produced and I feel like anyone who enjoys comedy audio dramas should give them a listen!

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Omega Star 7

Why this podcast?

The main story follows the crew of the Outlander, a spaceship captained by bounty hunters with great back and forth banter between the characters, in what feels like Firefly meets South Park. It's an incredible Sci-fi comedy, that can produce some very well done serious moments, as the characters traverse the Seven Systems. It also has some of the best sound design and music I've heard in an Audio Drama

3. PodCube™

Why this podcast?

Framed by the use of the PodCube™️, a time traversal audio recording device, this sketch comedy brings about scenarios I can best describe as absurd and obtuse, in the best way. Think "I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson" meets Quantum Leap

://INITIALIZE(); :{" Congratulations! 🎉 You are now able to receive transmissions from any of our deployed PodCubeTM recording devices, located throughout the known universe; past, present, and future. What is PodCubeTM? Beta-testers have described it as "a multiverse workplace comedy" and "a weirdly grounded look into the chaos of mainstream marketing and working under capitalist restrictions". Some reported that when operating a motorized vehicle, they have been forced to stop because they are "laughing too hard". One user went so far as to say that PodCubeTM "marks a meaningful improvement in the American sketch comedy scene." 4. Zed 1

Why this podcast?

A couple in England bunker down in their apartment building during a zombie apocalypse in England at first, then explore the ruins of their now post zombie outbreak town. Think "Shaun of the Dead" meets a bottle episode of a TV show, with news reports that give hints as to what's happening outside the town. It's a very cozy zombie comedy!

5. Mission Rejected

Why this podcast?

The adventures of a secret agency's B-team, this show is so well written and harkens back to spy parodies like Get Smart in both content and quality, but in a modern world. Acting is top notch and every cast member fits their character so well!
