Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nomine one individual, designate one individual and appoint eleven individuals to serve in his Administration.
The President intends to nominate Michael Young, of Pennsylvania, to be a Member of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission for the remainder of a six-year term expiring 08/30/14. Mr. Young currently serves as a Member of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. Prior to this, he served as Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Pennsylvania Coal Association. Earlier in his career, Mr. Young served as an Officer in the United States Air Force. Mr. Young received his bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and his JD from Wake Forest University.
The President intends to designate David Kelly of New York, to be Acting Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the Department of Transportation.
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, for six-year terms expiring 09/01/14:
Herbert V. Kohler, Jr., of Wisconsin
Carl H. Lindner III, of Ohio
Marilyn Carlson Nelson, of Minnesota
Robert Frank Pence, of the District of Columbia
David Rubenstein, of Maryland
Shirley W. Ryan, of Illinois
Marc I. Stern, of California
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation:
John L. Berrey, of Oklahoma, (Indian Tribe/Native Hawaiian Representative)
Bill Haslam, of Tennessee, (Mayor), for the remainder of a four-year term
expiring 06/10/09
Mark A. Sadd, of West Virginia, (Public), for the remainder of a four-year
term expiring 06/10/12
John Williams, of Washington, (Expert in the Field of Historic
Preservation), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring 06/10/12
