🌍 Can AI be a friend to the planet? In the podcast “L’IA, l’amie de la planète” hosted by Les Echos, marina alcaraz explores this question with our CEO and Co-founder Charlotte Degot, and Cyril Vart, analyst at EY FABERNOVEL. Together, they shed light on how AI can be a powerful tool for environmental transformation. Here are the key takeaways: 🎯 Precision & Granularity: AI enables companies to measure and reduce emissions with a level of detail that wouldn’t be possible manually. For example, with Reckitt, CO2 AI’s technology helps pinpoint exactly where and how to reduce emissions quickly and effectively. 🌐 Scaling for Impact: While many promising AI-driven projects are emerging at local levels, Cyril notes that national and regional initiatives remain limited. Realizing AI’s full potential will require alliances across companies, governments, and citizens, paving the way for scaled solutions. 🔍 Optimizing AI for Good: Both speakers concur on mindfully optimizing our approach to AI, ensuring it is fine-tuned for sustainable transformation. By fostering strategic partnerships and implementing AI thoughtfully, we can unlock significant environmental benefits. 🎧 Listen to the full podcast in French here: https://lnkd.in/e_44wEP6 #sustainability #climateaction #AI #CO2AI #EYFabernovel #decarbonization #lesechos #sustainablebusiness #Scope3 #smartgrids #climateadaptation

🌍 Climate change will cost us more than the price of a sustainable transition. As climate disasters increase, our infrastructure faces greater challenges. Today, many infrastructures, like those designed in the 1960s-70s to last 80 years, have lifespans closer to 50 years due to climate change. In the BSMART show, our CEO and Co-founder, Charlotte Degot, and Francesco Bellino, Managing Director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), shared their insights on the costs of climate inaction and the levers we need to activate for a sustainable transition. 💬 Charlotte's message was clear: "With climate change, the cost of inaction is far higher than the cost of the transition. We have zero reason not to accelerate." 📊 Some of the insights: - French insurers in the 2000s paid €2.7 billion annually due to natural disasters, underscoring the growing costs of climate impacts. - Many companies are recognizing the difference between greenwashing and actions that truly drive impact. - Those advancing their climate actions reported average net benefits of $200 million per year. 📺 So, why some companies are thriving while others fall behind? And what key steps can make all the difference? Watch the full discussion to find out: 👇 Find the link to our 2024 #CarbonSurvey in the comments to discover in depth the solutions implemented by climate leaders. #SmartImpact #ClimateInaction #ClimateChange #Decarbonization #AI #SustainableTransition
