Lindsay Lohan has surprise scene in Mean Girls costar Lacey Chabert's new Christmas movie

“That looks just like a girl I went to high school with."

Lacey Chabert fetches a surprise appearance by her Mean Girls costar Lindsay Lohan in her upcoming Netflix Christmas movie Hot Frosty.

The trailer for the new holiday flick (below) ends with a sweet Lohan cameo, as Chabert's character (seated next to fellow actor Dustin Milligan) watches a scene from Netflix's 2022 Yuletide rom-com (and Lohan's major-movie comeback project) Falling for Christmas.

"I know who I am!" Lohan says in the scene, which sees her recovering in a hospital bed after suffering a skiing accident and losing her memory.

In a touching tribute to their shared Mean Girls legacy, Chabert's character appears stunned by the face she sees on screen, observing, "That looks just like a girl I went to high school with."

The nod of course references the pair's roles in the Tina Fey-penned 2004 comedy classic, which followed them as high school students Cady Heron (Lohan) and Gretchen Wieners (Chabert) navigating the world of cutthroat cliques and teen relationships.

Lohan also has her own new Netflix Christmas movie on the way, Our Little Secret (Nov. 27), which features another Mean Girls reunion as it costars Tim Meadows, who played Principal Duvall in the teen comedy.

A full-on Mean Girls reunion with the original cast (also including Fey, Rachel McAdams, and Amanda Seyfried) has yet to happen, though select members have linked up for various commercials, interviews, and more over the years.

Earlier this year, Fey (Ms. Norbury) and Meadows reprised their roles in Paramount's musical remake, while Lohan also made a cameo near the end of the film as a moderator of a mathletes tournament.

"Paramount was like, 'Can you get any of the original ladies? And I was like, 'I can't fit five people in,'" Fey told EW in an interview about the remake. "I felt like if I could only get one person as a surprise, the original movie is really Lindsay's movie. As great as they all are, she's the heart of that movie. And I thought, well, what could she do? I didn't think [she should] play a teacher. I was trying to think of something that you wouldn't expect. And just to have her do that late in the movie, it also feels like it comes, I hope, at a time where fans weren't expecting one more little surprise. It also lets her be smart, which Cady is."

Hot Frosty — about a woman who brings a snowman to life — streams Nov. 13 on Netflix. Watch Chabert and Lohan's mini Mean Girls tribute in the trailer above.
