Newly open with a California vibe! I came here with four other girlfriends and had the happy hour menu as well as dinner. Happy hour is not bad, but feeling a bit sick so I got an Arnold palmer for 60 bucks! Still think it's really expensive for lemonade and iced tea...
We got skirt steak which was alright, fish tacos were yummy, oh and the Cesar salad was good too!! But the best was the red velvet cake I give it a medium score because I think overall good but a bit pricey.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Avery W.Hong Kong17427052512 Nov 2019
I have to say, Commissary was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting it to be generic chain or Hong Kong-ified American cuisine, but what I got instead was a somewhat authentic dining experience.
The chips and guac were good (it's hard to mess up on that), and while I admittedly did over-order with my friend, having had the ribs, Po Boy, and cornitas tacos with a milkshake and dessert to top it off, it was all pretty good. The ribs were tender and came off the bone easily, and the Fries that came with the Po Boy were well seasoned. That being said, it would've been nice to have more shrimp on the Po Boy, though an obvious restriction is the cost of shrimp in this town. As for the cornitas tacos, they felt a bit on the dry side. Perhaps they could've added a mild sauce or drizzle to it to improve the texture and complement the flavour profile.
Moving on to desserts, I've never had a hummingbird cake before, so I can't say if it was a faithful rendition, but it sure was tasty. I liked the mix of textures, from the crunchy flakiness of the nuts and coconut, to the density of the cake and cream cheese glaze which is so hard to come by in this city. The baked cookie dough is a dish that is often done well in Hong Kong and this was no exception. The outer layer was crunchy, while the inner laver was soft and gooey. It went fantastically with the ice cream they served it with.
The shakes were also nice and mild, not overly sweet as is the fashion back in the states, and that's a welcome transgression to the norm. The ambience of the place is pretty cute, and It's nice that it's impressive it turned out like this considering how it used to be a really cramped Starbucks.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Stella C.Hong Kong33166935125 Sept 2018
I made same day reservations for a group of 7 on a Friday night, which is practically unheard of in HK. They were completely accommodating of our group, our table was already arranged and ready for us upon arrival. We had a movie to catch just before 10pm within Pacific Place, they were also happy to accommodate us knowing what time we had to leave. We got all of our food (plenty!) quickly and with ample time so we could still enjoy a leisurely dinner. This was much appreciated, service here is excellent!
As a Californian, I definitely enjoyed their food and what they offer here. I enjoyed the fried chicken dishes (w/waffle and the sandwich), mac'n'cheese, and all of the other dishes looked delicious as well (tacos, burger, etc). I was happy to see the jalapeno poppers on the menu, but I have to admit they were not so good. I was hoping for something more cheesy. We were too full to have dessert, I would have loved to try their tres leches cake. This cake will be another reason to come back.
Great staff, service and food and all with a California twist; a nice addition to Hong Kong.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stroggo ..Hong Kong15147720 Jan 2019
***"Must-try" Crab Tacos and Pork Ribs***
In the past years, I always found that Mexican food in Hong Kong has slightly missed the mark (i.e. no one is able to replicate the original Mexican taste/flavor)..... or how they say in the game of baseball - A swing & a miss.
That being said COMMISSARY has definitely some of the much better Mexican food in Hong Kong.
It also has attentive staff, good ambience and a convenient location (right next to the taxi stand of Pacific Place).
The FOOD looked and tasted good, an example of which are the SOFT SHELL CRAB TACOS . There was generous amount of crab in it, which was fried enough to be nicely crunchy.
Four tacos should be enough to make any ordinary human being feel full......But I'm no ordinary human.... so in addition to the Crab Tacos, I also had the BBQ PORK RIBS.
PORK RIBS were so tender, the meat came off the bone effortlessly. It had generous amounts of BBQ sauce on it. It also came with a little bit of baked beans and dill pickles. But honestly, you don't notice these little sides when you have such tasty ribs in front of you!
The JALAPEÑO POPPERS were spicy and perhaps not for everyone. They must be importing those Jalapeños from Mexico coz the canned ones you find in local supermarkets are not so spicy at all!
In the near future, I would certainly like to visit Commissary again to try rest of the menu as I saw a lot more tempting items in there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy H.Hong Kong39517786614 Jan 2018
Came here for happy hour and all drinks are at a discounted price until 8pm. We tried the Korean bulgogi tacos, soft sell crab tacos and the cheesy truffle fries. Food taste pretty standard and drinks are ok. Its located near the Pacific place mall and great location to meet up if you work around the area. The truffle fries were surprisingly good but everything else is average.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Our slice of flourless chocolate cake was good. Not too dry and plenty of flavor. My cappuccino was good but it's not a very challenging drink. Their house made kombucha was refreshing. Will be back for sure.
