These are the rules concerning transliteration in Adyghe entries. It follows Gippert, J.: Caucasian Alphabet Systems Based Upon the Cyrillic Script. (TITUS) (http://titus.uni-frankfurt.de/didact/caucasus/kaukschr.pdf). The letters found only in Russian loanwords follow the scholarly transliteration for Russian, with the exception of я being transliterated as jā. The dialectal letters чу, гь and сӏ follow custom transliteration.
