Request reason:

Username has previously been changed and the current one, approved. There is absolutely nothing offensive, prejudicial, discriminatorial and as i see it, the username has no target demographic and should not even be taken as anything else than it is, a simple username that contains a word that actually has it's own page on wikipedia as Fart. I seriously don'T understand this and am very much in disagreement with whatever triggered this after such a time. I suddenly feel very bitter about my past monetary contributions to the project as i feel like i am being discriminated against myself. Thanks for reviewing. In the event that a negative is reached, please delete this account. It makes no sense to me to 'try' to be a part of a community that has such issues with even words that they, themselves, as a legitimate, non-problematic entry. I am dissapointed with this call, if it was manual. There is a serious problem when someone takes offense in something that doesn't affect them or has nothing to do with anything one should be concerned about. Certainly a good way to push away new/learning contributors

Accept reason:

You are right, and I was wrong. I've removed my block. Thanks for your contributions, and please accept my apologies. -- The Anome (talk) 09:55, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:The Anome - i'm okay with the apologies, even tho not strictly needed, i thank you for that. I get your idea, also, about not making 'Fart' a directly accepted username word. I do feel like the word in itself doesn't trigger more than laughter in general and is pretty much harmless. Some combinations might eventually turn offensive or very much out of taste. If it becomes a problem of taste, i think one could benefit from remembering that tastes are generally very individual and should not be categorized or judged without first giving a big thought to what the action essentially could/would do, meaning there is a huge possibility that by acting on the basis of taste alone sends a very judgemental message and could very well be exponentially more harmful than what it could do in terms of 'good'. There is grave danger in taking actions as quick as you did with regards to what the platform stands for and, even tho not of any legal weight in the context, freedom of ideas and speech. Again, i know they have no bearing on here but i thought id mention as they are subject of debate in the current world climate so very relevant in 'many/any/every' spheres of today's life. One more thing... i believe there was 'nicer', more polite ways to deal with the 'issue' as outlined in WP:BADNAME - Oldfart404 (talk) 10:28, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved...

[edit]

This was all very moving but its over with. I hope it can serve as an example of how not to act when having concerns about somethinģ, especially when there is suggested steps that should be expanded before ultimately acting upon an issue Oldfart404 (talk) 11:58, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
