I have made a user name request. I guess I wait to hear from you now. I appreciate having my page back. If I have any questions regarding officially uploading it, can I ask you?Natasha 22:54, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Natasha

I am fine with changing my username. I will try User:YogaN. I do appreciate your feedback, and I did supply links to articles that discussed the mining industry and the company mentioned. I mentioned the global market demand to add significance to the company's operations. Is there any way I can retreive the text that I wrote? Thank you for your help, and I would really like to be unblocked. Natasha 20:14, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Natasha

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing username change to YogaN (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.

Please unblock my page, and allow my access. I mistakenly used Bard Ventures as my username as I thought that's how one names a page. I'm a newbie. I am not an employee of the company. This company will have a significant impact on the community surrounding by offering employment. I included historical reference, w/ external links to the Government of Canada. I named other companies involved in this industry. It is a a public company. I fail to understand why my contribution was deleted. There are dozens of similar listings on the mining companies with far less market information. Natasha 16:17, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Natasha

I can't help you with the unblock, but I can try to help you understand why your page was deleted. On wikipedia, each article about a group or person must show why that group or person is notable, see WP:NOTE. Without a good showing of notability, the article can and will be deleted. Read over the criteria, and if you still believe that the company is notable then you could try again, but make sure you show why, using references from verifiable, reliable sources. See WP:V for examples. If these types of sources are not available, then it will not be possible to keep an article on Wiki about it. Also, please note that pointing at other articles is not a valid reason for keeping your own. If you believe that they are not up to par, you are welcome to propose deletion for them, but that cannot be used as a reasoning for keeping your own article. I hope you enjoy being here, and sorry you had such a rough start. Templarion (talk) 18:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I think it's quite likely this company is notable and that the speedy deletion was misapplied. The article had two sources, at least one of which looked like it could be an independent and reliable one, and the article claimed that the company was listed on an important stock exchange. Mangojuicetalk 19:14, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unblocked to allow name change. Once your name is changed, I'll undelete the article and move into a draft in your userspace; that way you can work on it without so much pressure, until it's ready. Mangojuicetalk 21:21, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I didn't realize that. Then in that case, I apologize to you for assuming you did not source it correctly. Templarion (talk) 21:22, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Bard Ventures"

[edit]

A page you created, Bard Ventures, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for companies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. JaGatalk 00:42, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This account, YogaN, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy.
This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.

Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, or misleading. Also, usernames may not end with the string "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.
  4. In the alternative, you can "abandon" the contributions under this username and create a new account, which is much faster and easier.
Last, the automated software systems that prevent vandalism may have been activated, which can cause new account creation to be blocked also. If you have not acted in a deliberately inappropriate manner, please let us know if this happens, and we will deactivate the block as soon as possible. You may also appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Again, welcome!  Mangojuicetalk 13:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey -- I took a look at the draft you've got there, and it's not ready for article space yet. First of all, it needs to be Wikified; look at some random Wikipedia articles and click "edit" to see how they are made to look the way they do. More importantly, though, the article is a corporate profile based on no clearly acceptable sources. The corporate web site, or the molybdenum exchange, are not independent sources; the CCM research report is self-published, and I've never heard of Junior Mining Weekly but it doesn't sound substantial enough to base an article on. Also, the section on demand for molybdenum seems to be the one part of the article with sources (it's not totally clear, though, because the citations aren't specific), but that part of the article seems entirely superfluous. Sure, Bard Ventures is involved in molybdenum mining, but that section isn't about Bard Ventures at all, just about the molybdenum market; that material belongs at another article, such as Molybdenum.
Okay, that all said, what you do when you do decide to change it back to an article is click on the "move" button. Mangojuicetalk 05:45, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bard Ventures

[edit]

Hey there — just a friendly heads-up to let you know that I've made a couple of small changes to things you've done recently.

  • In the Bard Ventures Company article, you had a link to the page for the ticker symbol information on the TSX website. I've updated that using a template that's available here — typing {{tsxv|CBS}} will insert code that indicates the stock is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and providing that same link to the TSX website
  • I've also removed the link to this article that you included on the Companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (B) page. This alphabetical series of pages is intended to reflect companies listed on the main exchange, not on the Venture board
