Template:Admin dashboard/light

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  1. Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates.
  2. The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.
  3. Pages RFPP and UNFAA are simply linked (i.e. not transcluded) when too busy

Current requests for increase in protection level

[edit]
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Stop IP edits made to add false information helping scammers impersonate the brand 147.161.234.174 (talk) 08:25, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Three IPs edit-warring to say that a building protection order was "thanks to pressure from Save Oasis Swindon", with no source for that. 82.30.50.220 and Nmrobinson007 have both identified themselves as having COI connections to the group, and been advised not to edit the article directly. Template protection: High-risk template – Used by Strip tags, which is fully protected. — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 18:39, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – In the past couple weeks, 5 established editors (myself included) have had to remove disruptive edits from multiple new accounts and IPs. Two new SPAs have been identified as sockpuppets and blocked already. Disruptive edits have been focused on removing well-sourced accusations of misconduct from the subject's page. The article should be protected temporarily to mitigate the issue. —Ganesha811 (talk) 22:45, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Multiple template-editor creation protected non-template or module pages

[edit]

Indefinite full creation protection: Because template-editor protection is mostly used on templates and modules per WP:TPROT, and because most deleted and repeatedly created non-template or module pages are instead fully, extended confirmed or semi salted or creation protected. Reason: The article was protected for WP:EW. A discussion was open in the talk page to try to see if a consensus was possible. However, just like before, as soon as the protection was over, the article was edit by the person engaged in the previous EW. Despite having it's multiple IPs blocked, the problem persists. No discussion will be able to go forward as long as the WP:status quo of the page is respected and the IP has shown no interest in respect it or the consensus policy. Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: (The redirect, not its target): The page was preemptively protected without prior deletion in logs. No prior history of vandalism. Requesting extended confirmed protection or autoconfirmed protection as WP:Featured articles is autoconfirmed-protected. 2003 LN6 07:02, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Been on Wikipedia for a few years now. Mainly created BLPs. Requesting for autopatrolled rights to reduce the backlog of new page patrollers. I declare that I've understood verifiability, notability and copyrights. SerChevalerie (talk) 21:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)

On hold. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:46, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
Okay, the user's talk page history is back. This can now be evaluated normally. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 08:12, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

I have been an editor since 2020, but only really started ramping up my edits in February of this year. I have made 320+ pages (at least 4 of them are from redirects), 166+ of which have been in the last 6 days (as of August 29). Another user (Ryan shell) suggested that I should apply. The only major issue that my articles have had in the past was me using AI, which I have acknowledged was wrong and promised not to do it again to an administrator, who worked with me on how to properly find info for articles without using AI. Most of my articles are stubs, and I feel like they can clog up the New Pages Feed a bit. Since I know this will be brought up, of the 4 pages I have started that have been deleted, one was an April Fools joke page that I didn't realize wasn't allowed, one was from an AfD, and the other two are from the above AI issue. Experienced and frequent editor. Knowledgeable in article creation and assessment. Ktkvtsh (talk) 23:10, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

@Ktkvtsh: Would you care to explain why you think your creation Mario Acampa was recently deleted at AfD? Additionally, could you explain how Boler's Inn passes the notability guideline for buildings? None of the three sources cited seem to have the significant coverage required to meet the guideline's standard. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 05:02, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
I created Mario Acampa as a translation from Italian when I first started editing. I was not fully aware of all standards and guidelines at that time.
For Boler's Inn, I believe that it qualified due to it's listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Ktkvtsh (talk) 14:05, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
Yes. It's generally accepted that a property on the NHRP is thoroughly documented, or it wouldn't have been listed in the first place. The nomination form lists 14 sources in its Bibliography section. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 14:18, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, I'd missed WP:MAPOUTCOMES earlier. I don't have any further concerns! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 18:41, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

I have been contributing to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Commons for over 10 years, especially on transportation-related topics. Since 2015, I have been serving as a Patroller on Turkish Wikipedia, which I believe has given me sufficient experience. Although I have some shortcomings, I believe I have a good understanding of the policies, which is why I would like to apply for this access level. Thanks for considering this request. bluetime93 💬 14:07, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Not done. Autopatrolled is not an "access level". You can create new articles without being autopatrolled. Only after 25 creation without issues do we typically grant autopatrolled. It only means that the article doesn't get checked by new page reviewers. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 16:21, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

I have created well over 180 mainspace articles, including twenty-eight in the last three months, and seven since the start of August. I regularly create articles on Antigua and Barbuda-related topics, which I have been doing since November 2020. CROIXtalk 13:06, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Page mover

[edit]

I want to help with the renaming of various LGBTQ child pages as a result follow-up to the main article LGBTQ now being LGBTQ as a result of the concluded Talk:LGBTQ#Requested move 14 August 2024 discussion that I initiated. Most of the child pages all have existing redirects that need to be page swapped and many are not just 1-iteration, so need to WP:ROUNDROBIN swapped, for which Page Mover permissions are required. I am aware of the policies around page moving and will respect the permissions as such. Raladic (talk) 16:43, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Raladic, what's the scale/scope of the pages needing moved? Best guess is okay, I don't necessarily need a specific number (my thought process here is wondering if WP:RM/TR might be a better route). (please do not ping on reply) Primefac (talk) 12:49, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Many, basically for many years all sub-pages that have the article title "LGBT" have followed the principle of "when the time comes that the main article 'LGBT' gets rename, then we'll rename the others" - that time has come now, so basically all sorts of other pages (and categories) that currently have LGBT in the title should be updated to LGBTQ now per WP:COMMONNAME, so basically very many pages under Category:LGBT that have LGBT in the name, including those categories as well.
Also likely the WikiProject LGBT itself. If there is some automated way to achieve that in bulk, then that of course would also be fine if that is what you were trying to get at with the Technical Request link. Raladic (talk) 14:31, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Naively, there are more than 1,000 pages when searching for articles with titles containing "LGBT". Even if it is just 10% of these being processed, RM/TR would be burdened with an onslaught of requests. – robertsky (talk) 17:47, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Done for two months to clear out this single task. Primefac (talk) 15:06, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

General moves. Recently I've wanted to move some voting theory articles (e.g. participation criterion) to rephrase them in terms of their associated paradoxes (e.g. the no show paradox). I've typically found this makes them more intuitive to most people. – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 00:17, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Not done per lack of demonstrated need, lack of RM and RM/TR experience, and more broadly speaking a rather high percentage of move reversals compared to the total number of moves. Primefac (talk) 12:44, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Huh, TIL I apparently have a high percentage of move reversals; I can only think of one that I noticed. How can I check on move reversals? – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 16:41, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

Rollback

[edit]

I have been using wp:twinkle and been patrolling for about a month now to revert and report vandalism and I would really like to use tools like wp:huggle and wp:ANVDL to deal with vandalism. I have also read all the appropriate policies and understand them.

thanks, Daisytheduck quack quack 02:38, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

Not done I noticed you make a handful of reverts on a single day, and then drop off for a week or two at a time. While I appreciate your enthusiasm, that's just not enough anti-vandalism activity for me to asses whether you'll be able to use the tool appropriately. I'd like to see you spend at least a month consistently patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are always warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 07:35, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
