Dr. Alexander Jacob IPS is a well known Police Officer in Kerala. He is very well known for his meritorious sevice in Police Training. He was awarded for this meritorious service with the Police Medal from the President of India in 2004. Ref. Speedy delete

I have re-declined the speedy, as there was still no reason specified (I think you're after {{db-a7}} rather than the generic {{speedydelete}}), and not meeting WP:N is explicitly not a reason for speedy deletion (see CSD A7). I agree that the notability is shaky, but the information on the awards that this person has garnered are, in my view, "a reasonable indication of why it might be notable", to quote the above-linked policy. I suggest WP:AFD or WP:PROD if you want to delete this article, because it clearly does not meet the speedy deletion criteria. Lankiveil (speak to me) 03:43, 24 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Notability

Unlike the subjects of other articles that this/these author(s) has/have authored, Alexander Jacob is a notable IPS officer (It's from my memory, so I can't add more credibility to my statement at this point). Several articles in Malayalam Newspapers (including those w/ circulation of 1 million or more daily copies) should have a number of citations about him. Unfortunately, it is difficult - if not impossible - to cite online references that seems credible to a western audience, although someone could dig up those old newspaper references and make the article look more credible from a notability perspective. --Jacob.jose (talk) 04:02, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Being IGP of Kerala Police and Director of Police Training academy are sufficient to establish notability. What I am more concerned is whether the original author will maintain this article anymore, considering he no more has the opportunity for self promotion through the deleted article Thomas Kuzhinapurath --Jacob.jose (talk) 00:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
