Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

The discussion process is used for potentially controversial moves. If any of the following apply to a desired move, treat it as potentially controversial:

• There is an existing article (not just a redirect) at the target title;
• There has been any past debate about the best title for the page;
• Someone could reasonably disagree with the move.

If a desired move is uncontroversial and technical in nature (e.g. spelling), please feel free to move the page yourself. If the page has recently been moved without discussion, you may revert the move and initiate a discussion on its talk page. In either case, if you are unable to complete the move, request it below.

• To list a technical request, add the following code at the top of the subsection Uncontroversial technical requests below:

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Do not edit the article's talk page.

• If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move it to the Contested technical requests section.

• If your technical request is contested by another editor, please remove it from the contested technical requests section and follow the instructions at Requesting potentially controversial moves.

• Alternatively, if the only obstacle to an uncontroversial move is another page in the way, you can ask for the deletion of the other page. This may apply, for example, if the other page is currently a redirect to the article to be moved, a redirect with no incoming links, or an unnecessary disambiguation page with a minor edit history. To request the other page be deleted, add the following code to the top of the page that is in the way:

Uncontroversial technical requests

• Template:Archdiocese of New Orleans → Template:Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans (move · discuss) – Make template name consistent with names of other RC archdiocese and diocese templates. – JoeHebda (talk) 00:55, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

• World Domination Tour (Slipknot) → World Domination Tour (move · discuss) – Only article with this name, so per WP:PRECISE. – Steel1943 (talk) 22:55, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Object to RMTR speedy move. I think this should have a full discussion, since this redirect has pointed to two different articles in its history, and multiple retargets between those two articles, and carries a hatnote to a third article, so eligible for dabification. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 03:32, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

• The other article in the history, Doll Domination Tour, doesn't even have the phrase "World Domination Tour" anywhere in it; thus, the retarget. But either way, I'm in no hurry for this move to happen, so if it had to wait seven days, that's okay. I also don't see the value in a disambiguation page since Doll Domination Tour isn't even called "World Domimation Tour" in any sources I've found, and creating a disambiguation page would result in two articles listed: one that matches the name, and the other which is a partial title match (Rocksimus Maximus Tour/World Domination Tour). Either way, I've already corrected all of the incoming links. Steel1943 (talk) 07:05, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

• Hannah Diamond (musician) → Hannah Diamond (move · discuss) – Hannah Diamond was created as a redirect. Hannah Diamond (musician) was later created as a separate article (originally Hannah Diamond (Musician)) instead of modifying the redirect. – hinnk (talk) 05:41, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
