Place of birth

Solin is a small town in Croatia. It's not too well known, and definitely not used much in Wikipedia quality. The correct place of birth is Dalmacija (Dalmatia), where Solin is located. If you look at any other article on a person, their place of birth is stated as the actual major city in which they are from. Thats why I quickly stated in his club career section that he is born in the small town of Solin, which is a village in the city of Dalmatia. Please leave it as it was before, with Dalmacija being his place of birth. Solin can and will be mentioned later in the article.

Also, a common consensus on Wikipedia is that the country of birth should be stated as what is was when the person was born. All Croatian footballer articles have SFR Yugoslavia as the country of birth, with the italic words (now Croatia) next to it. Its the right way to do it, please leave this as well. Future speculation

Probably time to remove this section or at least change it to past tense. It talks about Kalinic being expected to move in the Jan 09 transfer window. Obviously that didn't happen. Atouraya (talk) 00:19, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Kalinic 4.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:Kalinic 4.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

2018 World Cup

The fact that this player was sent home for the reason that he was shouldn't just be in the body of the article, it should have a brief mention in the opening section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.208.234 (talk) 20:26, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why'd you think this'd be controversial, because of the 466 incoming links? I would assume most come from template links. Let's disambiguate those immediately and get a clearer count. --Joy (talk) 22:07, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It now says 407 direct, 145 indirect. --Joy (talk) 07:53, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
