Hello, thanks for trying to deal with vandalism on Wikipedia. I noticed your work when you had reverted one edit by an IP user to [[Gravitron]], but you had missed [//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gravitron&diff=579311842&oldid=579040985 the other one]. While looking through your contributions, I noticed that you sometimes completely reverted consecutive vandalism edits, [//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Simon_Newcomb&diff=prev&oldid=579310713 like at Simon Newcomb], so I imagine the "Gravitron" problem was an oversight. However, it's more useful to note the user who made the edit you reverted to rather than its revision ID – in the Simon Newcomb example, it would' |

Dealing with vandalism
Hello, thanks for trying to deal with vandalism on Wikipedia. I noticed your work when you had reverted one edit by an IP user to Gravitron, but you had missed the other one. While looking through your contributions, I noticed that you sometimes completely reverted consecutive vandalism edits, like at Simon Newcomb, so I imagine the "Gravitron" problem was an oversight. However, it's more useful to note the user who made the edit you reverted to rather than its revision ID – in the Simon Newcomb example, it would've been better to write "rv to last version by Chris55" in the edit summary.
It's also very useful if you can warn vandals – especially if their edits are recent – and check their contributions. Tools like Twinkle can make it easier to deal with vandalism. Graham87 09:54, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
