He is currently studying to get [[Masters of Fine Arts]] at the [[University of Southern California]] in film and television production. He is well-known for his discovery of [[Australopithecus sediba]].

Berger was born in [[Johannesburg, South Africa]] on November 30th, 1998. His father, [[Lee Rogers Berger]], is a [[paleoanthropologist]] and [[National Geographic]] Explorer-in-Residence. His mother, Jacqueline Berger ([[née]] Smilg), is a [[radiologist]] in the medical school at the [[University of the Witwatersrand]]. Berger has an older sister, Megan (born 1996).

Berger attended elementary, middle school and high school at [[St. John's College]] in [[Johannesburg, South Africa]] and graduated in 2016. He went on to receive a [[Bachelors of Arts]] degree from [[The University of Alabama]] majoring in [[anthropology]] and [[geology]] and minoring in [[criminal justice]]. He is currently attending the [[University of Southern California]] to receive a [[Masters of Fine Arts]] degree in film and television production.
