DescriptionThe Old Man of Gugh - geograph.org.uk - 816645.jpg
English: The Old Man of Gugh A Bronze Age menhir or standing stone around 3,500 years old.
In the distance you can see 'The Bow' and the coast of St Mary's. The 'Isle of Scilly' guidebook reads:
".....In 3,500 years time in AD 5500, with the present rate of sea rise of about 3mm a year, the sea level will be about 10.5 metres higher than today. The waves will then be lapping at the base of the old man himself.."
