Summary

Description
English: Life restoration of the Late Maastrichtian prognathodontin Thalassotitan atrox (Longrich et al., 2022) from the Oulad Abdoun Basin of Morocco with human scale.

Reference: Head is primarily informed by syntype MNHM.KHG.231 and referred specimen OCP DEK-GE 497 in Longrich et al. (2022).[1] Postcranial body and head-body scaling including bilobed tail is primarily based on Prognathodon sp. specimen ERMNH HFV 197 (Lindgren et al., 2013)[2] with additional input by P. overtoni skeletons TMP 2007.034.0001 and MP 2002.400.0001 (Konishi et al., 2011).[3] With a reported skull length of ~130 cm, an upper total length estimate of 10 meters (33 ft) was reconstructed (Longrich et al., 2022).[1]
