Description Milne Bay, New Guinea, 1943-04-14. The grave of Squadron Leader P.B. Turnbull, DFC. in the Milne Bay War Cemetery. Squadron Leader Turnbull, the Commanding Officer of No 76 Squadron, was killed when his aircraft crashed during a strafing run against Japanese forces during the Battle of Milne Bay. As a tribute to his memory, No 3 Airstrip at Milne Bay was renamed 'Turnbull Field'.
