Image license

[edit]

You have uploaded an image with no license, Image:Himala.jpg. This will be soon deleted if you don't provide a useable license for it. Rmhermen 01:42, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I already fixed it. Thanks for reminding. =) Weekeejames
Did you really take this picture yourself as you claim on the image page or is this a picture from a movie as the caption ("Nora Aunor as Elsa in the highly critically-acclaimed film "Himala") seems to claim in the article where the image is used? Rmhermen 20:31, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No I did not really take the picture. It was from a movie magazine a long time ago (and this movie magazine does not exist anymore), and I had the picture pasted on my scrapbook. I will change a better license. Thanks! Weekeejames
Ok, now I think the copyright tag is better. I do really believe that the image is not known to be copyrighted and was released in a promotional material to the public domain in the Philippines. Weekeejames

Private pages

[edit]

Weekeejames, pls use this format [[/yourprivatepage]]--Jondel 05:21, 11 May 2006 (UTC) This is referring to your Chavacano wikiproject page.[reply]

If I used it, what would it mean? Can you cite an example? --Weekeejames 06:32, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is my suggestion:/Chavacano de Zamboanga Wikipedia Other wise you would be unintentionally creating a new article page.--Jondel 07:48, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no it won't. The Chavacano de Zamboanga Wikipedia project should link to cbk-zam.wikipedia.org and not to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chavacano_de_Zamboanga_Wikipedia, if that's what you mean. I'm actually starting to link it to cbk-zam.wikipedia.org at the tambay page. The link is still colored red, and when it get's approved, then it will be a legit sub domain of wikipedia.org. --Weekeejames 08:00, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Sorry, I thought you were creating your own personal agenda page for later implementation. Anyway if there are no problems pls go ahead. --Jondel 08:19, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could I suggest that you translate this or the Chavacano article as your first page for the Chavacano wiki. Thanks.--Jondel 00:41, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't submitted yet the proposal to create a Chava wiki. I became sick during the weekend. Also, I can translate the Philippines article for now. But how do I do that? Is there a template? Can you guide me? --Weekeejames 01:04, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problema! Este es mi sugestion:User:Weekeejames/chPhilippines Puedes escriber aqui. Sorry, I 've taken the liberty of creating a link at your user page. I hope you don't mind.--Jondel 05:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm done with the request proposal. As soon as we get approval, I will do the Philippines page in Chavacano as the "Primero Pajina" del Chavacano Wikipedia. --Weekeejames 13:23, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Si, no problema. May I continue to create links directly on your user page like the chavacano Philippine page and this User:Weekeejames/chJoseRizal ?--Jondel 00:05, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed starting articles: -Jose Rizal -Ninoy Aquino -Chavacano language -Spanish in the Philippines -Zamboanga City -Zamboanga Province -Manila -Tagalog language -Katipunan -Emilio Aguinaldo -Andres Bonifacio -Ferdinan Magellan -United States of America -Jeepney -Carabao -Spanish (or merge with Spanish in the Philippines if it will be short?) -Gloria Macapagal Arroyo -Governor/Mayor of Zamboannga (whoever he is)

Yes, please start to create links under my userpage for the articles you listed above and direct those links to me. I will start translating them (one article each night) so that when the Chava Wiki is approved, all we do is to transfer them. --Weekeejames 00:20, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I will try create brief summaries because it will be too much work. As time passes it is easy to expand and imporve in quality. --Jondel 00:23, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Este por favor:User:Weekeejames/chNinoyAquino--Jondel 01:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wait! Can you make your template English? I can only translate from English to Chavacano. I'm not fluent in Spanish, and I'm 100% Chabacano. Hence, the templates and master guides will be solely from en.wikipedia.org to be translated and transferred to cbk-zam.wikipedia.org. --Weekeejames 01:09, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Actually I tried to make it as Chabacano as possible.--Jondel 01:17, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you look at it now? The second paragraphs are English. The first are broken Spanish so that it will be easier to write.--Jondel 01:42, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I knew you were actually trying to make it as Chabacano as possible in your own way, so I edited it and just as I was about to save the page, there was an edit conflit because you already edited it again now with an English translation. I lost my translation. Anyway, when you translate to Chavacano, yo don't do it word for word or your Chavacano will end up even funnier to Spanish speaking people. We do it thought for thought. Analyze my translation. --Weekeejames 01:56, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I'll leave this alone now. I'll continue with other articles later.--Jondel 02:01, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish comprehension

[edit]

Can you and the average chabacano understand spoken Spanish or the telenovelas in the original? Thanks. --Jondel 02:01, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but only for simple Spanish sentences and Spanish words that are familiar. A Spanish speaker also has to speak his language slowly. On the other way around, A Spanish speaker will understand Chavacano in the same manner and when simple sentences and modern (Chavacano uses many archaic Castillian words) Spanish words. BTW, I'll continue with the translations shortly. Was out in the fields doling research work. --Weekeejames 04:23, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to rush. The chv wiki hasn't been approved yet, and you have forever and hopefully other chavacano speakers will volunteer. Translate when you feel like it so the quality is better. --Jondel 10:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I imagine that the chabacano wiki site will become very popular in Zamboangga. Then you would not neet much help because there would be many other chavacano speakers and writers who can contribute. I hope.

I really do not remember uploading that image to en.wikipedia.org. I do remember though that I edited the article "Pasyon" and added a link to download the file at commons http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Pasyon.pdf . At commons, after uploading the file, that image was automatically shown http://commons.wikimedia.org/skins-1.5/common/images/icons/fileicon-pdf.png because the file I uploaded was an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. I was new to wikipedia that time and somehow I must have played around with both the file itself and the image file from commons and I must have uploaded the files to en.wikipedia.org . Maybe you should just delete both the icon file http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fileicon-pdf.png and the file itself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Pasyon.pdf from en.wikipedia.org because the link to download the file in the en.wikipedia.org article Pasyon points to the file at commons anyway. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Pasyon.pdf Thank you. --Weekeejames 11:17, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Independent cities

[edit]

Is it OK for Zamboanga City to be mentioned in {{Zamboanga del Sur}} as seen on {{Pampanga}}? --Howard the Duck 15:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No it is not. Zamboanga City is not a part, in any aspect, of the del sur province and vice-versa. I resent the changing of the caption on the locator map on the Zamboanga City article. Again, the "map of Zamboanga Peninsula" is irrelevant to both Zamboanga City and her location. I edited (re-wrote the sentence) the caption before to emphasize the "location" not the map of the peninsula. But oh well, it is back again.
"Map of the Zamboanga Peninsula showing the location of Zamboanga City." (current caption)
"Location of Zamboanga City within the Zamboanga Peninsula" (my edited caption)
See the difference? --Weekeejames 21:40, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, the navigational template at the bottom. If you'd see Template:Pampanga, there's a blurb at the very bottom that Angeles City is not within Pampanga's jurisdiction. --Howard the Duck 04:09, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need to explain that Zamboanga City is not a part of the del sur province (in any aspect) on a provincial template for the del sur province. The explanation should be within the articles. The templates are there for navigational purposes only. It shouldn't be there to 'overdo', but rather augment a well-written article. --Weekeejames 19:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However:
  • Several people know that the City is part of the del Sur province.
A well-written article - not a navigational tool like the template - should correct this misinformation.
The footnote would be at the very bottom of template - outside the province logo, like this:
Province of Zamboanga del Sur
Pagadian (Capital)
80px|Seal of Zamboanga del Sur
City Pagadian
Municipalities Aurora | Bayog | Dimataling | Dinas | Dumalinao | Dumingag | Guipos | Josefina | Kumalarang | Labangan | Lakewood | Lapuyan | Mahayag | Margosatubig | Midsalip | Molave | Pitogo | Ramon Magsaysay | | San Miguel | San Pablo | Sominot | Tabina | Tambulig | Tigbao | Tukuran | Vincenzo A. Sagun
Note: Zamboanga City is politically and administratively independent from the province.
--Howard the Duck 03:47, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • They'll be confused because they can't find the City in any of the del Sur pages.
Actually, it's the mistaken association of the city with the del sur province and vice-versa all these years that has been causing the confusion. If we just stop all these association and explain right on the article, then we can help solve the confusion.
Although the article would help, very few read all of the article (an example would be the Main Page when the article count was removed when it was actually placed in the languages section, people began shouting to high heavens why it was removed when it was actually placed at a section).
Having footnotes is a fairly common practice, see for example, {{Asia}}. --Howard the Duck 03:47, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rest assured that the wording would be clear that the City is, was, and will never be a part of del Sur. --Howard the Duck 08:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm strongly against the inclusion of Zamboanga City in any of the navigational province templates. I strongly support the inclusion of the city only in the Indy template. --Weekeejames 19:30, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note that {{Zamboanga del Sur}} would not appear in the Zamboanga City article, only the {{Indy Philippine cities}}. --Howard the Duck 03:47, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The footnote would look fine if it was a footnote to explain further about something that is right on the template. There is no need for a footnote explaining Zamboanga City when Zamboanga City does not exist on the template. See the Asia template. What footnote no. 3 is saying is that Egypt (which is right there on the template) is mostly in Africa. Footnote no. 3 exists because Egypt is there on the template. In this case, why create a footnote for Zamboanga City when it does not belong to the template. Again, this explanation should be there on the article not on the template. Yes, only the Indy template should appear in the Zamboanga City article. --Weekeejames 20:17, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However, not too many people know Egypt should be on that template (see Template talk:Asia#Egypt??). And the inclusion of Taiwan there means that the ROC exists (so the one-China policy is not observed here). That means even if the City is, was and will never be a part of del Sur, a lot of people know it is currently a part of del Sur. Ergo, the template should be a summary, just like all templates should be; since the City article says it is not a part of del Sur, so it should reflect in the template.
Notice that this is a compromise on the Independent Cities which are independent from a province while being associated with its mother province, and independent cities which do not wish to be associated with any province. I don't see any offense on "Note: Zamboanga City is politically and administratively independent from the province." appearing as a footnote for it fortifies the truth that Zamboanga City is not a part of Zamboanga del Sur. --Howard the Duck 01:26, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What I was trying to say is that a footnote exists because there is a need to explain further as a "side note" or a reference or citation to something that is being written about. In this case, there is no need for that footnote because the template is not talking about Zamboanga City. Again, the explanation that Zamboanga City was never a part of the del sur province should be right on the Zamboanga City article. While your explanation note (actually it's not a footnote) on the template is certainly not offensive, it is simply superfluous. --Weekeejames 02:14, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However, several materials continue to assert that the City is a part of del Sur; even the government regularly publishes information saying that the City a part of del Sur; adding info/note that the City is not a part of del Sur in the template, as well as the article, reinforces and asserts that the City is not a part of del Sur or any other province. (Can you suggest how the sentence should be reworded?) --Howard the Duck 04:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedians by Language

[edit]

Hello, I wanted to discuss this with you, since you are the creator of the pages in question, and are pretty obviously the "go-to guy" for all Chavacano-related discussions.

In Category:Wikipedians by language, there is a cat called Category:User cbk, which is great, since that is the ISO 639-3 classification for Chavacano. However, there is also Category:Wikipedians by Pidgins and Creoles, subcatted into Category:Wikipedians by Spanish-based Creole languages, which is further subcatted into Category:Chabacano Wikipedians and Category:Chavacano Wikipedians. Since the ISO-standard category is already in place, I'd like to delete the whole Category:Wikipedians by Pidgins and Creoles tree, which would prune four superfluous categories out of the Babel classifications. Right now, you are the only user in that whole tree (twice), using non-standard naming conventions. Do you have any problems with my proposal? Horologium t-c 17:57, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The categories (and sub-categories) Category:User cbk, Category:User cbk-N, Category:User cbk-1, Category:User cbk-2, Category:User cbk-3, and Category:User cbk-4 were created when I first created and categorized the Chavacano userboxes. The category Category:Wikipedians by Pidgins and Creoles subcatted into Category:Wikipedians by Spanish-based Creole languages were created because I found it necessary for the categories Category:Chabacano Wikipedians and Category:Chavacano Wikipedians to be categorized under those umbrellas. Now the reason why I created Category:Chabacano Wikipedians and Category:Chavacano Wikipedians was for ethno-linguistal purposes. The mother category is called "Category:Wikipedians by language" and so we are not only categorizing languages (by ISO naming standards), but we should and more importantly include categories of "people who speak a certain language" hence, in the ethno-linguistic context. Wikipedians who speak = People who speak. Future Chavacano/Chabacano wikipedians will find it easier to categorize themselves using the category Category:Chabacano Wikipedians or Category:Chavacano Wikipedians than looking out for CBK - the ISO name. I even thought categories such as wikipedians by romance languages, wikipedians by ancient languages, wikipedians by austronesian languages, etc... should all be there in that one big umbrella called "Category:Wikipedians by language", but I cannot understand why the categories were broken down directly as languages. We're not categorizing languages, but wikipedians in that mother category, now aren't we? This is just my opinion. You might want to put this up as a discussion where this should be properly discussed first before having then deleted. Thank you for informing me on that matter, and whatever the consensus will be, I will have no problem. But this is what my opinion (POV) is on the matter. Also, I am not on Wikipedia regularly these days because of work. Thanks. --Weekeejames 02:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(after edit conflict)I understand your concern, but would it not be more appropriate to head over to Category:Wikipedians by ethnicity and nationality and create a new category for Chavacanos there? (or perhaps Zamboangueños? I'm not sure if Chavacano is just the language, or also an ethnic identification as well.) That way, both the ability to identify as Chavacano and the integrity of the languages project are maintained. I brought it up in your talk page first because you don't log on every day, and I wanted to discuss the matter with you before submitting it to WP:UCfD, and possibly zapping your work without you getting a chance to participate in the discussion. Horologium t-c 03:09, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I still dont get it. The mother category says "Category: WIkipedians by language" and not "Category: Language by Wikipedians". We are sorting out Wikipedians (people) by language and not languages where people (Wikipedians can fit in). And yes, Chavacano/Chabacano is not only a language, but a certain group of people call themselves Chavacano/Chabacano as well (see the main article on Chavacano. --Weekeejames 03:34, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also please see the suggestion I have made to expand the now inactive AmSam WikiProject to include both Samoas, as the Council is now deleting inactive projects. Chris 05:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really very sorry. I am not fluent in Samoan. I can only write and edit few articles relating to American Samoa in English. --Weekeejames 10:14, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rename and expansion

[edit]
Description
I propose to expand the now-inactive Wikipedia:WikiProject American Samoa into Wikipedia:WikiProject Samoa to be more inclusive of both Samoas and all Samoan-topics. Including the independent nation, with three times the population, would improve (and perhaps save) the existing Project. Not to mention the large Samoan diaspora, Los Angeles being the largest Samoan city, as well as notables who have come from the culture, like The Rock, Sosene Anesi...

You could request that the project change its scope, and, if whatever response you got was affirmative and sufficient, change the existing project page, templates, blah blah blah. At that point, you could start tagging the articles of the new broader scope and try to get members that way. Listing it on the Community Portal would probably work too. But you really should get the approval of the project itself before making such changes. Of course, if others were to join the project and agree to the changes, no one could argue that. John Carter 22:12, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chris, I do really understand your intentions to bring back activity on the Wikiproject American Samoa by your proposal to expand it into a Wikiproject Samoa. But, I refuse to participate because I do believe the current Wikiproject is for American Samoa in particular, and that is why it was created as such. There will be American Samoans, US Nationals and US Citizens affiliated with this US territory who will eventually help this current Wikiproject in the future. Yes, it is inactive and I do not see any reason to change its scope and objectives just to make it active in a hurry. --Weekeejames 10:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Comic Relief (band)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Comic Relief (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ecoleetage (talk) 15:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Comic Relief.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Comic Relief.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:54, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Fortpilar.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Fortpilar.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:17, 3 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 05:17, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Fortpilar.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Fortpilar.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 02:57, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As of this edit, there is still no evidence that zamboanga.com allows their content to be used freely. Please provide a link stating the permission of follow the steps above. Thanks. --Bluemask (talk) 03:02, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Subanon, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://litera1no4.tripod.com/subanon_frame.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on File:Ph locator rizal pililla mun.png, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because File:Ph locator rizal pililla mun.png is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting File:Ph locator rizal pililla mun.png, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hola!

I just wanted to thank you for your hard and brilliant work on the Chavacano language on this Wikipedia, and in creating the cbk Wikipedia. I became really interested in Chavacano in preparation for a stay I have lined up in the Phillippines and Zamboanga. Your article has been both useful and fascinating.

I was wondering if you know any way I can purchase the Chambers English-Chabacano dictionary cited?

Also, in addition to thanking you, I wanted to just say that upon reading your page about your disaffection from Wikipedia, that I sympathise and think that given your contributions, you should be happy with what you have achieved in your time here.

Have a good day, -Kez (talk) 13:16, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Weekeejames! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 354 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

A tag has been placed on Gerald Salonga, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Article name is wrong. Another page exist with the correct name - Gerard Salonga

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Briarfallen (talk) 06:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:31, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed blackout in protest of R.A.10175

[edit]

Dear Weekeejames,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 14, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,
