J-10 Article

[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for the work you're doing on the J-10B article. Please understand that deleting informative links can lead to edit warring. Please discuss any issues on the page talk page before taking action. Thanks & Best. --plamkii (talk) May 01 2009 —Preceding undated comment added 17:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Posted the following reply on your talk page and on J-10 article:
"Hello. Please understand that GrandeStrategy may be an informative link, but it is still a blog. The GrandeStrategy article on J-10B is composed of information from other sources (which are already added to the external links section of the J-10 article) and speculation by the author. If you add the link again, I will not remove it because I do not want an edit war. But I will bring the issue up on the talk page and get more experienced editors involved. Blogs by enthusiasts are not authoritative sources. You told me to discuss this matter on the article talk page before editing, but you did not do so yourself. Please do not add warnings on my talk page when you are not willing to follow their advice yourself. Hj108 (talk) 15:17, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistan Air Force

[edit]

Hello,

Thanks you for your effort to improve the concerned article. Please note that removal of sourced, informative content is highly undesirable as it would most likely be reverted and can lead to edit warring. Feel free to make changes to the tone of the sentences, add more information backed by reliable, scholarly sources and raise any outstanding issues on the article's talkpage. Have a nice day --Incidious (talk) 22:17, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
Thanks for raising for raising your concerns. If you would see, sources [10], [11] and [8] are all neutral sources. Regarding the Indian sources, [12] and [13], the information is very much relevant to the topic and necessary too as it explains the losses incurred by the Indians. I'm sorry but I failed to see any form of bias in that piece of information and it seems rather subjective. Regarding Sabres, read the caption on the ride side of page 164: it says The F-86s did well against Hunters and Mysteres but had trouble dealing with the Gnats. Thanks --Incidious (talk) 12:42, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I removed source [12] for the sake of neutrality. As of now, out of all the sources mentioned in the 1965 war section, only one seems to be Indian. Thanks --Incidious (talk) 12:48, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, in the 1971 war section, the source [18] only mentions that the PAF was unable to intervene during IAF's raid on Pakistani air bases and Indian Navy's raid on Karachi. The source does not mention PAF's explanation for its inaction. However, I do understand your sensitivities attached to this touchy issue. --Incidious (talk) 12:58, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ra'ad and Babur cruise missile title change?

[edit]

I apologize for the late reply. I was away for a couple of days. In response to your question, it is a good idea to rename Ra'ad to Raad cruise missile.

Your proposal could be implemented based on community consensus in accordance to Wikipedia guidelines, we must initiate a poll on the talk page of the article. If the community consensus is successful the changes are permitted to take place otherwise they would be reverted back to the orignal form. Further more, I would like to propose redirecting. You could create a page using the following code to redirect your article to the orginal article # REDIRECT Anything you feel is appropriate this does not require consensus. I hope this is helps.

If you require any assistance feel free to contact me. :) Faraz (talk) 17:40, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PAA

[edit]

Does the ground equiqment also bleongs to PAA Aviation].yousaf465'

I saw a recent edit from you changing "bears similarities' to "bares similarities". I think you misunderstood, the actual word is "bears similarities". Bears --> transitive verb "be marked by something:" to show physical signs of something eg bears a likeness to his uncle. See Encarta dictionary entry#7. So, the correct phrase would be "The KLJ-7 uses a mechanically-steered slotted array antenna and bears similarities with the various Russian radars imported in the 1990s." You may delete this talk page entry after making the change. Regards Raza0007 [[[User talk:Raza0007|Talk]]] 17:30, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shaheen-III article

[edit]

Please stop editing the Shaheen-III page unless you can provide some sources sufficient to reject all the sources provided --User:Jawadqamar

Firstly, please sign your discussion page edits by typing Hj108 (talk) 09:51, 27 August 2009 (UTC) after them. Secondly, my edits to the Shaheen III article are perfectly valid because you are not providing sources that "Shaheen IV" is the new Pakistani ICBM. If you can, I will be more than happy to include that information.[reply]
--Hj108 (talk) 09:51, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So far no name is given to the new ICBM and I never said that Shaheen-III is tipu You are just deleting the information that Pakistan has a ICBM program even when sources do exists. I placed it under the name of Shaheen-IV as it is the only logical name until a new specific name is given to the missile by the Pakistani authorities. Because of this reason I did not created a separate page for this ICBM as no name exists so far. But you got to realize that no name don’t mean no missile, something you deleting habit suggests —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jawadqamar (talkcontribs) 14:39, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Logic" doesn't come into it, you need proper sources. Your sources do not say the ICBM is called Shaheen IV, they do not say that Tipu's specifications are the same as Shaheen III. The Shaheen III article is for Shaheen III only, move the ICBM news to some other article. Look at the JF-17 article I have been working on, it has sources for every single fact. Every article is supposed to be like this, including Shaheen III. I'm trying to improve the Pakistan-related articles, why would I let you edit them with something you made up?
I'm asking for a second time, when you edit my talk page please sign your edit by putting four of this symbol: ~ after the edit, like this:
~~~~
Also, don't keep adding new topics to the talk page for no reason, use the first one you created.
--Hj108 (talk) 15:15, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
These sources are clearly providing the information about the ICBM with range of 7000km, now you may not like to call them Tipu or Shaheen-IV but fact remains that ICBM program is there irrespective of the fact that it is yet to be named. You can’t just go on deleting the information just on the basis that project is yet to be named, if you have issues with name you can always edit it rather than deleting everything on the topic.Jawadqamar (talk
Doesn't matter if it exists or not, it is NOT Shaheen III or Shaheen IV so it belongs in another article. Simple. Stop adding new topics to my discussion page when one already exists at the bottom (see Wikipedia:Talk_page guidelines) and start signing your edits (see Wikipedia:Signatures guidelines).--Hj108 (talk) 17:54, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 15 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Al-Khalid tank. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. The ship name is Zulfiqar you can check internet for reports in Pakistani newspapers about this frigate. This is a spelling mistakes. The Chinese made spelling mistake and our Pakistani Navy has not noticed it yet ! In English language U always follows Q so QU is used. But in Urdu and Arabic, U after Q is not necessary. Can you please search and find anybody spelling Zulfiqar as Zulfiquar ? Zulfiqar was sword of Hazrat Ali. 99.229.230.20 (talk) 16:04, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
According to the Pakistan Navy website: http://www.paknavy.gov.pk/pn_event_pr3.htm
"The second F-22P Frigate... will be named PNS SHAMSHEER... the first ship (to be named PNS ZULFIQUAR) is under trials... Construction of third Ship (to be named PNS SAIF) is also progressing...
So you can see that these spellings are used by the Pakistan Navy, we must use them here also. If the Navy decides to change the spellings, only then can we change the spellings in the F-22P article. Besides, the English spelling will never be as accurate as the Arabic/Urdu spellings so it doesn't matter. We should really concentrate on improving this and other articles rather than worrying about these English spellings that will always be imperfect anyway.--Hj108 (talk) 23:00, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Tipu
[edit]
I've removed the deletion nomination you inserted into the unrelated AfD for Caralho. For future reference, note that in order to initiate an Articles for Deletion discussion you have to complete the three steps described at WP:AFD: tagging the article, creating a discussion page, and listing the discussion on the AfD log page. In the case of Tipu, however, an AfD was unnecessary; an already existing article was overwritten with the new, copyvio material, so I've just reverted the edit to restore the original article. Edits to article PNS Ghazi
[edit]
I have only reverted the article to the past version which you had changed without any reason. You can't tag edits everyone who does not think like you to be a vandalism. The wordings in the article were proper and had already been discussed and corrected by Pakistani editors in past. I rather could blame you for vandalism for mindlessly changing and altering a text that has been accepted by both Indian and Pakistani editors for a long time.
--UplinkAnsh (talk) 18:02, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Rubbish, you're adding non-encyclopaedic language such as "hunter turned hunted". We both know there aren't enough Pakistani editors to get rid of such nationalistic nonsense from every article. An Indian source as well as an Egyptian source state that there were no Indian ships in the vicinity, giving credence to the claim that it was an accident. You cannot blame me for vandalism because I am editing according to what the sources say, not according to what nationality I am, unlike some.--Hj108 (talk) 20:00, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
March 2010
[edit]
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on PNS Ghazi. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Gerardw (talk) 00:52, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ghauri (missile)
[edit]
The Ghauri (missile) was referred to as "The India Killer" on BBC World News and other places. There are Blogs that also reference this although I am well aware those are no good for wikipedia citations. I've put a citation needed tag on the line so that me or some other editor can find a firm citation later. This is business as usual on wikipedia. It is not original research. Wlmg (talk) 20:11, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I spent half an hour looking for a citation and didn't find one. If you want to have a chance to keep looking, then you won't mind if I comment out that line? By the way the citation you added says nothing about the Ghauri ballistic missile having that nickname. --Hj108 (talk) 21:28, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]
I see no particular problem either way with your move, but you need to do it properly and not just copy/paste the content across. As the target page has a history of its own that will need merging into the history of Special service group so I think a move request will be needed - see Wikipedia:Requested moves. There assume the move request is controversial so any possible drama is minimised as it will need significant admin assistance to complete. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 18:37, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nomination of Marine Systems Limited for deletion
[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Marine Systems Limited is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marine Systems Limited until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Greenbörg (talk) 16:39, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Marine Systems Limited, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
