English: Silk cloth with image of an offering of animals brought to two figures (Castor and Pollux?) standing on a pillar. Byzantium, 7th/8th century. Treasury of the Basilica of Saint Servatius (Maastricht). Also fragments in: Musée Historique des Tissues (Lyon), Musée des Arts décoratifs (Paris), Kunstgewerbemuseum (Berlin), and Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York).
