Summary
| Description |
The New State House, which is the President's palace in Roseau, Dominica. It is on Victoria Street. I believe that the old State House is somewhere in the vicinity. The building is said to cost 27 million East Caribbean dollars (US $10 million). One source said that it is a gift from the Chinese government. Last year I saw a political poster criticizing the government for spend a lot of money on a palace for the President, when the country had so many other needs. I also saw an article that said it was 90% finished. Perhaps the remaining work is mostly landscaping. There was a guard house to the right of the photo, but no guard. |
