• Generally support, a good article on one of a very few Englishmen deserving to be called great. A few minor things I'd like to see sorted, the lead could do with a bit of expanding and the linking to main articles at the top of a number of sections should be made more consistent. • Object - Completely inadequate lead section and needs a great many inline citations. ==Views on religion== is a stub section, combine with another section. A couple short paragraphs about social Darwinism and eugenics in the ==Legacy== section are enough. Having a whole section on that is overblown for an article on the man (section would make perfect sense at reaction to Darwin's theory and/or at another article that deals with his work on the interpretation of his work). --mav 08:31, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

I agree "views on religion" is too short. But it's a bit contradictory to claim another section as too long though. Mandel 12:46, May 4, 2005 (UTC)

No it is not contradictory since that other section is not tightly related to the subject at hand (the man and his work). --mav 15:07, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

The section is useful as there is a lot of misinformation out there on Darwin's view of eugenics/social darwnism/race etc. perpetuated by Creationists who deliberately misunderstand history and nuance. But anyway, I shunted it off to the "reaction to" article even though it is a little chronologically incorrect, because it did seem to take up a bit too much space on the page. --Fastfission 16:14, 4 May 2005 (UTC)
